The Corning Museum of Glass
has operated a state-of-the-art teaching facility for glassblowing and coldworking since 1996 and, for 27 years, has offered programs to support students. The Museum and the MTSU Department of Art and Design are partnering to provide an Art Major scholarship to attend the Museum’s 1-week or 2-week intensive Summer 2024 courses in Corning, New York. The class schedule is available at Summer at Corning Museum of Glass and includes museum tours, evening lectures by artists, and other professional practice exercises, lectures, and opportunities. The scholarship covers the costs of the student’s summer tuition, a stipend for all lunch and dinner meals, materials for the class selected, and round-trip tickets for flights from Nashville to Elmira, New York. The chosen student is responsible only for a $20.00 application fee and possibly the cost of shuttle service to and from Corning to Elmira.
