Site Hazards and Risks
Pulsar Helium sites are inherently industrial environments. Common hazards you may encounter:
- Heavy machinery and equipment: Trucks, cranes, froklifts and other equipment operate throughout the site. Always stay clear and follow designated walkways.
- Slip, trip, and fall hazards: Uneven, loose terrain, equipment, tools, and wet surfaces can pose tripping and falling risks. Be mindful of your footing and wear appropriate footwear.
- Exposure: Operations and equipment maintenance may involve hazardous materials. In the event of an advised evacuation, stay upwind and follow all instructions carefully.
- Noise: Loud machinery and equipment can damage hearing. Wear hearing protection when required.
Restricted areas: Certain areas are off-limits for safety reasons. Boundaries and signage must be clearly communicated and respected.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
In some areas, you may be required to wear PPE, such as:
- Safety glasses or goggles: Protect your eyes from flying debris and chemicals.
- Hearing Protection: Wear ear protection if provided or requested.
- Hard hat: Shielding your head from falling objects is crucial.
- Steel-toed boots: Protect your feet from punctures and crushing hazards.
- High-visibility vest: Increase your visibility to drivers and operators, especially in low-light conditions.
Your escort will inform you about any necessary PPE and will provide it if needed.
