Thank you for expressing your confidence in our hospital by choosing to board your pet with us. We will do our best to make your pet’s stay comfortable and enjoyable. Pets that are boarded away from home may experience some stress as they are in a new environment and there may be a change in diet. We try to minimize these stresses by maximizing personal attention and maintaining the following policies: We require immunizations to be current— for dogs: Da2pp, Lepto, Bordatella, Rabies and a negative fecal analysis within 6 months. For cats: FVRCP, Feline Leukemia and Rabies to board at our facility. Any health condition that is apparent in your pet will be discussed with you and treated during their stay; there will be a charge for these treatments. Also, fleas and ticks will be treated as necessary at your expense. This is necessary to assure complete hospital parasite control and to maintain a flea and tick free facility.
In spite of all precautions, some pets will break with certain illnesses, which are as common to us as the cold and flu. We will, of course, treat any such illnesses as they occur and isolate them from other pets. There will be a charge for any medications prescribed or procedures performed. We understand that you may want to leave personal items (toys, blankets, etc.) to help your pet feel more comfortable in their surroundings. Our staff takes steps to help keep track of these items, however as they are moved and may need to be cleaned, some items may become lost or damaged, the clinic will not be responsible for personal items left with your pet.
All dogs are walked and cat litter boxes cleaned at least twice daily to keep their area clean, however in spite of this it is not unusual for some pets to become soiled during their stay. To ensure a clean pet upon discharge we recommend a bath (additional cost) at that time. These baths are done the morning of your pet’s release and they may be picked up that afternoon. Bathed pets are to be picked up after 3:00 pm.
