  • Why we are called kings' Church?
God’s desire is for the restoration of his people to walk in their kingly and priestly roles. Sages in the city. Prophets in the projects. Walking in the cover of darkness, bringing light, bringing revelation. Asking people to come to search for treasure, to hunt for heaven, to sell all to buy the field and seek the treasure.

    1. "And hath made us and unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen."
    — Revelation 1:6 KJV

    2. "It is the glory of God to conceal things, but the is to search things out." — Proverbs 25:2 ESV

    What are our core values?
Our core values stem directly from Jesus' teachings. When asked about the most important commandments, Jesus summarized them:

    • “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and soul, and love your neighbor as yourself.”
    • Our first six values focus on loving God; our love for people flows from our love of God.
    • John writes, “You can’t say you love God but hate your brother.”

    Loving God

    1. Word
We honor God’s word by recognizing it as the manifest will and way of God. It
defines who we are, what we do and how we do it. We believe all scripture is the
primary inspired message from God to man. We conform our lives to it, it is not
conformed by interpretation to our lives.

"Your word is a for my feet, a on my path."
    — Psalm 119:105

    2. Worship
We believe in the full spectrum of human emotion, and we believe that
spectrum should be directed in love toward God through singing, dancing, jumping,
kicking, clapping, crying, silence, contemplation, etc. We do not believe in limiting our
expression of worship to a singular musical genre or one-dimensional expression.

"Lift up in the sanctuary and praise the Lord."
    —Psalm 134:2 [28:2; 63:4; 91:12]

    3. Prayer
We believe in a lifestyle of communicating with God both with specified intentionality and in a continual communing with Him. We believe the church is called to be a house of prayer. We believe we can change the world around us and inside of us through our prayers.

"The of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results."
    — James 5:16b

    4. Preeminence
Always, continually refocusing our motives and methods to Jesus as the
center: His life, His sacrifice, and the centrality of His teaching.

"20 and through Him to Himself by making peace through the blood of His cross— whether things on earth or things in heaven."
    — Colossians 1:16-20

    5. Holy Spirit
We believe we can be empowered by the Holy Spirit to serve others and to
edify ourselves. The Holy Spirit gives us the ability to live a supernatural life and His
power is available to every believer. We believe when we come to Jesus we are sealed
with the Holy Spirit; we also firmly believe in the baptism of His power.

"I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you
forever; that is the , whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or Know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you." — John 14: 16-17

    6. Rest
We believe in a biblical Sabbath: taking 24 hours and resting. We believe it
postures our hearts to live in what He has done for us, resting in His goodness. It
postures our hearts to trust. We believe it is one of the 10 commandments.

"Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do
all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you
    shall ."
    — Exodus 20:8-10

    Loving People

    7. Service
Jesus gave us the formula for greatness: be the greatest servant. We believe
that service is both for others and for us. We believe that true greatness is found in
taking the low road. We believe in serving our friends, families, co-workers, neighbors,
and believe in serving the local church.

"And he sat down and called the twelve. And he said to them, “if anyone would be
first, he must be last of all and ."
    — Mark 9:35

    8. Giving
We believe that God gave His only begotten son into the world and our first response is to give back to HIm. One of the ways we do that is to give financially. We believe in the tithe that was established before the law as an act that all who walk in the faith adventure are called to replicate. We believe in giving anything the Lord asks us to give. We hold nothing with closed hands.

"Bring the into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.
    — Malachi 3:10

    9. Family
We believe that family is the central and sovereign building block of society. We
believe that families should be strong, and supported. That they should work, play, and
    rest well together with intention.

from the LORD, offspring a reward from him. Like
arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the
man whose quiver is full of them..."
    — Psalms 127:3-5

    10. Community
We believe people are supposed to live together, sharing life and food. We
intentionally break bread together. We purposefully invest in relationships. We hang
together, we worship together in church and in homes, or actually wherever we are.

"Every day they continued to meet in the temple courts. They broke bread
and ate together with glad and sincere hearts."
    — Acts 2:46

    11. Celebrating
We believe in seeing the best in people. We are protective of the treasure
in people. We build, and edify. We are a community that stands for the flourishing of the
human heart. Consequently, we stand against the enemies of an honoring and
supportive community such as: gossip, sarcasm, and baseless criticism. We are not
threatened by each other’s gifts or talents. We are each other’s biggest fans.

"Let us consider how to to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near."
    — Hebrews 10:24

  • Part 2: What We Believe
Tenants of Faith - An overview of kings’ Church orthodox & fundamental beliefs.

    God
We believe in one God (Duet 6:4, Mark 12:29, Isaiah 43:10–11, Matt 28:19), the , the Almighty (Isaiah 64:8, Jeremiah 3:19, Psalm 68:5, Matthew 6:9), maker of heaven and earth (John 1:3, Job 12:7-10, Psalm 95:4–5, Psalm 104:24–25;), of all things visible and (Colossians 1:16, Job 12:7-10, Psalm 95:4–5, Psalm 104:24–25;)

    Jesus
And in one Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 8:6, Ephesians 4:5), the only-begotten (John 1:18), Son of God (Matt 3:17, John 3:16) from the Father before all ages (John 1:1, Col. 1:17, 1 John 1:1), God from God (John 1:1-2), (John 1:4, 1:9, 2 Corinthians 4:6), true God from true God (1 John 5:20), begotten, not made (John 1:18); of the same essence as the Father (John 10:30, Philippians 2:6, Colossians 2:9). Through him all things were made (John 1:1-3, 10, 14). For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven (John 6:38, 1 Thessalonians 5:9, Acts 4:12); he became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary and was made human (Romans 1:3, Matthew 1:18, Luke 1:27,35). He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate (Mark 15:15, Acts 2:36, Matthew 2:2,26); he suffered (1 Peter 21:21, Hebrews 2:10) and was buried (Mark 15:46, 1 Corinthians 5:4). The third day he rose again (Matthew 27:63, 28:1, 1 Corinthians 5:4), according to the Scriptures (Psalm 16:10, Jonah 1:17, Luke 24:25-27). He ascended (Luke 24:51, Acts 1:9) to heaven (Mark 6:19, Acts 1:11) and is seated at the right hand of the Father (Psalm 110:1, Matthew 26:64, Acts 7:56). He will come again (John 14:3, 1 Thessalonians 4:6) with glory (Matthew 16:27, 24:30, 25:31, Mark 8:38) to judge (Acts 10:42, 17:31, John 5:22, Revelation 19:11) the living and the dead (Acts 10:42, 1 Peter 4:5). His kingdom will never end (Luke 1:33, Revelation 11:15) [Jesus is the and the (Rev 5:5-7)].

    Holy Spirit
And we believe in the Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19, Acts 13:2) the Lord (2 Corinthians 3:17) and giver of life (John 6:63, Rom. 7:6, 8:2, 2 Cor. 3:6), He proceeds from the Father and the Son (John 15:26, Rom. 8:9, Gal. 4:6), and with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified (Luke 4:8, John 4:24, 1 Tim. 1:17). Hethrough the prophets (1 Pet. 1:10-11, 2 Pet 1:21).

    Church
We believe in one (1 Cor. 10:16-17, 12:12-13) holy (5:27, 1 Pet. 2:9) catholic and apostolic church (Romans 16:5, Matthew 18:20, Philippians 4:3, Revelation 21:27, Colossians 1:18). We affirm one baptism for the forgiveness of sins (Matthew 28:18-19, Acts 2:38, Romans 6:3, Ephesians 4:5, John 3:5, Galatians 3:27). We look forward to the resurrection of the dead (1 Thessalonians. 4:16, 1 Cor. 15:12-13, 16, 52), and to life in the . (1 Corinthians 15:54-57, Rev 22:5) Amen (Ps. 41:13, 2 Cor. 1:20).

The Bible as an Ancient Text

  • Image-35
  • The Basics

    The Scriptures
The Bible is the inspired Word of God, a revelation from God to men, the infallible rule of faith and conduct, and superior to conscience and reason, but not contrary to reason (2 Tim. 3:15-17; 1 Pet. 1:23-25; Heb. 4:12).

    The One True God

The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent, self-revealed “I AM,” and has further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association, by simultaneously existing as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4; Mark 12:29; Isa. 43:10, 11; Matt. 28:19).

    Man’s Fall and

Man was created good and upright, for God said, “Let us make man in our image and after our likeness.” Man, by voluntary transgression, fell, and his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God (Gen. 1:26-31; Gen. 3:17; Rom. 5:12-21).

    The Man

The Grace of God, which brings salvation, has appeared to all men, through the preaching of repentance toward God and through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; man is saved by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, and being justified by grace, has become heir of God according to the hope of eternal life (Titus 2:11; 3:5-7; Rom. 10:13-15; Luke 24:47).

    Evidences of

The inward evidence to the believer of his salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit (Rom. 8:16). The outward evidence to all men is a life of holiness (1 Thess. 4:7, 2 Tim.1:9).

    The of the Father

All believers should ardently expect and earnestly seek the Promise of the Father, which is the baptism in the Holy Spirit. With it comes the infilling of power for life and service, and the bestowment of the gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-8; 1 Cor. 12:1-31). This experience may be distinct from and subsequent to the experience of the New Birth (Acts 2:38; 10:44-46; 11:14-16; 15:7-9).

    Process

By the power of the Holy Spirit we strive to obey the command, “Be ye holy, for I am holy.” Sanctification is the will of God for all believers, and should be earnestly pursued by walking in obedience to God’s Word (Heb. 12:14; 1 Pet. 1:15, 16; 1 Thess. 5:23, 24; 1 John 2:6).

    The Church

The church is the holy Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of her great commission. Each believer, an integral part of the church; their names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. (I Thess. 2:4)

    Ministry

Divinely called and Scripturally ordained ministry has been provided by our Lord for a two-fold purpose: (1) The evangelization of the world, and (2) The edification of the Body of Christ (Mark 16:15, 20; Eph. 4:11-13,), each for the glory of God.

    Marriage

God created marriage. It is a covenant made between a man and a woman that makes them one. (Gen 2: 22,24; Matt 19: 5-6).

    Divine Healing

Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement of Christ and is the privilege of all believers (Isa. 53:4, 5; Matt. 8:16, 17; Mark 16:18; John 5:14).

    Ecclesiastical Practice

     in Water

The ordinance of baptism by burial with Christ should be observed (as commanded in the Scriptures) by all that have repented of their sins and in their hearts have believed on Christ as their Savior and Lord. In doing so, they declare to the world that they have died with Christ and that they have also been released to walk with Him in newness of life (Matt. 28:19; Rom. 6:4).

    The Lord’s Supper ( )

The Lord’s Supper, consisting of the elements, bread and fruit of the vine, is the symbol expressing our sharing in a memorial to His suffering and death, and a prophecy of His second coming, and is enjoined to all believers “until He comes” (John 6:48,51,53-57; Luke 22:19,20; 2 Pet. 1:4; 1 Cor. 11:25).

    The End

    The Blessed

The resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation, together with those who are alive and remain unto the Lord, is imminent and is the blessed hope of the church (1 Thess. 4:16; Rom. 6:23; Titus 2:13; 1 Cor. 15:51,52).

    Eschatology

Jesus is returning visibly and personally to bring final judgment, restore all things, and establish His eternal kingdom (2 Thess. 1:7; Rev. 19:11–16; Rev. 20:1–7). (2 Thess. 1:7; Rev. 19:1l-16; Rom. 11:25; Rev. 20:l-7).

    The Lake of

The devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, and whosoever is not found written in the Lamb’s Book of Life shall be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake which burns Fire and brimstone, which is the second death (Rev. 19:20; 20:10-15).

The New Heavens and New Earth

We, as promised in the Scriptures, look for a new heavens and a new earth wherein righteousness dwells (2 Pet. 3:13; Rev. 21:1-8).
