1. Immersion Orchestra Program
$105 Early Bird / $130 Standard
Tuition covers the student's enrollment in Immersion Weekend. They will have dedicated sessions with Ernest Richardson to rehearse and prepare for the Celebration Concert. Members of the Steamboat Symphony Orchestra will also be on site for additional coaching and mentoring. Immersion Weekend is an extremely rewarding and unique experience for students, and you can count on Ernest providing amazing nuggets of wisdom and inspiration for all involved!
Requirements
Students of all ages, with a foundational through advanced level of learning in bowed string instruments (violin, viola, cello, and double bass, Suzuki Books 1 - 10 or equivalent) are invited to participate in the Immersion Orchestra Program. Students will select ability-appropriate pieces from a list of provided repertoire and prepare their chosen piece(s) before Immersion Weekend begins.
The Immersion Orchestra performs its pieces at the Celebration Concert on Sunday afternoon.

Participation in the Immersion Orchestra is a course requirement for students enrolled in the Steamboat Springs High School Orchestra (SSHSO). They are exempt from paying the Immersion Orchestra Program registration fee. Please use the code provided to you when checking out.
2. Chamber Ensemble Program
$130
Tuition for Chamber Ensemble covers three private coaching sessions with the group's Chamber Ensemble Coach, who is also a member of the Steamboat Symphony Orchestra. During Immersion Weekend, the ensemble will have at least one private coaching session with SSO Conductor Ernest Richardson. Based on student availability, two sessions may be scheduled.
Participating in Chamber Ensemble provides invaluable small group learning, under the direction of an SSO Professional Musician, and dedicated coaching with Ernest Richardson. We see exceptional growth in the individual students in this program, as well as developing friendships with fellow ensemble members.
Requirements
String students at Suzuki Book 2 level and higher with strong note-reading skills may register to participate in a Chamber Ensemble. A Chamber Ensemble is a small group of musicians, such as a string quartet or trio. Registered students will be grouped by skill level and assigned a specific piece to practice and perform.
The Chamber Ensembles perform their pieces at the Celebration Concert on Sunday afternoon.
*Please note, placement can only be offered if enough students with similar abilities register.

- Chamber rehearsals will be scheduled based on student availability. We aim to beign rehearsals the first week of February.
