  • PARENT/GUARDIAN(s) INFORMATION:

  • 1.   ANNUAL REGISTRATION FEE: A non-refundable registration fee of $100 due at the time of registration. This fee is not applied to tuition and covers registration for all children in the household for the 2024-2025 school year including summer preschool.

    2.   TUITION: Class tuition varies by program, but all program tuition fees are based on a 10-month school year in session September – June. Discovery Village does not give credit for vacation breaks, weather closures or absences. There are two payment options offered, monthly payments or pay in full.

    Payments made by credit card will be charged a convenience charge equal to the merchant fees paid by Discovery Village (currently 3%). Payments made online through QuickBooks by check (ACH) will not be charged any fees, the secure system only requires you to enter your banking information once.

    You will receive September's tuition invoice on August 1st at the billing email you have listed. The first month's tuition and supply fee is due by August 15, 2024. If payment has not been received by that time the position will be offered to the next student on the established waitlist.

    Paid in full tuition is sent by 7/1/24 and due by 8/1/24.

    3.   SUPPLY FEE: The annual supply fee will be collected with 1st month’s tuition. The supply fee is non-refundable if a student withdraws.

    4.   AUTO-PAY: QuickBooks offers an auto-pay feature. This is only applicable to monthly tuition invoices. It does not apply to additional services such as, lunch bunch, extended care, enrichment, early drop-off etc. Any changes to tuition invoices may disrupt any auto-pay setup. Please make sure to check that payments are fully processed. Late fees will apply to past due invoices.

    5.   LATE PAYMENTS & WITHDRAWALS: Tuition is due by the 15th of each month (invoice schedule above). A $30 late fee will be charged for any invoice not paid by the 25th of the month. A 10% late fee is applied to all non-tuition invoices if not paid by the specified due date.

    We require 30 days written notice if you wish to withdraw your child from Discovery Village. A revised pro-rated tuition invoice is sent to the billing email address on file. Notification of 29 days or less will result in payment of full tuition.

    6.  FAILURE TO PAY: Failure to pay for services may result in student suspension or debt collection. We send past due invoices to customers via the billing email address on file followed by hard copy via in person or mail. If we are unsuccessful in reaching you, a collection notice is sent via certified mail. Late fees are applied to all past due invoices. Delinquent accounts are sent to Puget Sound Collections. It is the responsibility of the customer to monitor their billing email and notify Discovery Village of any questions or concerns via email to director@discovery-village.com or phone 253-858-4835.

    7.   PAY IN FULL DISCOUNT: Receive a 5% discount when you pay the year’s entire tuition and supply fees on or before August 1, 2024 (payments made by credit card are subject to the merchant fees we are charged). If payment has not been received by that time the position will be offered to the next student on the established waitlist. Pay in full discount cannot be combined with any other discount. The maximum discount offered is 5% on tuition only.

    8.   SIBLING DISCOUNT: Families with two or more enrolled students receive a 5% tuition discount on each child. Sibling discount does not apply to application or supply fees and cannot be combined with any other discount. The maximum discount offered is 5% on tuition per child.

    9.   MILITARY AND LEOFF DISCOUNT: Active duty military OR first responders qualify for a discount of 5% on tuition. Discount does not apply to registration or supply fees. The military and LEOFF discount cannot be combined with any other discount. The maximum discount offered is 5% on tuition.

    10.   MULTIPLE CLASS DISCOUNT: Multiple class discount may apply to families enrolling in two or more classes offered during the school year. (September- June). Multiple class discount is non applicable for summer classes and cannot be combined with any other discounts. The Maximum discount is 5% on tuition only.

    11.   RETURNED or DISPUTED PAYMENT FEE: A $25.00 charge is applied to all returned or disputed payments. A returned or disputed payment fee occurs when your financial institution issues a charge to an account in response to insufficient funds or if your account is unable to process a transaction for a related number of reasons.

    12.   LATE PICKUP: If you are more than 10 minutes late to pick up your child, you will be invoiced for $20 each occurrence.

    13.   HEALTH: Keeping everyone healthy is very important. The classrooms and play exhibits are cleaned continually throughout the day. If you notice any signs of illness or know your child has recently been exposed to an illness, please do not bring your child to Discovery Village.

    14.   MEDICATIONS: If your child requires daily medication, Discovery Village will administer only after a medication authorization form is filled out and the medicine is in original packaging; this includes over the counter medications as well. DO NOT put medications in your child’s backpack. They must be handed to your child’s teacher with the completed required documentation.

    15.   ZERO TOLERANCE: Discovery Village is a tobacco, drug and weapon free environment. We have a zero tolerance policy and any student that brings any of the above will be expelled immediately.

    16.   APPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR: Our goal at Discovery Village is to provide a fun, safe, clean and nurturing environment for your child to learn. Hitting, spitting, biting, kicking or any other type of violent behavior will not be accepted at Discovery Village. Appropriate language is also an expectation of all students. Disrespectful behavior or language will not be tolerated. If a child is deliberately harming him or herself or other children, they will be removed from the classroom immediately and we will contact you for pick up.

    17.   SAFETY DRILLS: Safety drills (earthquake/fire/other emergency) will be practiced at Discovery Village. Your child will be required to have an emergency kit on hand at the school.

    18.   READY TO LEARN: Please send your child to school every day well rested, well fed and prepared to learn. Please bring a backpack to school with a change of clothing and/or diapers. Communication from your teacher or the office will be sent home in your child’s backpack.

    19.   MINIMUM CLASS REGISTRATION: All preschool classes must have a minimum of 8 students enrolled 30 days prior to the first day of class in order to run. Discovery Village reserves the right to cancel or merge classes up to one month prior to the start of a class. If a class is cancelled, or times/dates change all fees collected for the class will be refunded upon request.

    20.   CONDUCT MONEY: A $50 fee is charged to a customer when Discovery Village is subject to a subpoena to produce documents; for example, the time it takes for us to identify, copy, and collate the requested documentation for family court.

  • ADDITIONAL SERVICES (for school year classes only):

    Early morning drop off options are available:

    • Drop off at 8:00am: $10/day (3s and older)
    • Drop off at 8:30am: $5/day (3s and older)
    • Drop off at 9:00am: $5/day (2s only) This service is offered a few weeks after the school year begins to ensure students are comfortable. 

    2's lunch bunch care is available every school day from 12:00 - 1:00pm for $10/day. This service is offered a few weeks after the school year begins to ensure students are comfortable. 

    Afternoon Enrichment is available Monday - Friday from 1:00 - 4:30pm for students currently enrolled in our 3's classes and older for $45/day. Separate enrollment is required.

    Families have the option to order students school lunch for an additional $7. Sign-up daily at morning drop off.

  • CONSENT FOR PICKUP:

    Enter the names of any adults, other than the listed parent/guardians who you authorize to pick up your child. Staff will not allow children to be picked up by any unauthorized individual.

  • PHOTO RELEASE:

    Any photos or videos taken of your child while at Discovery Village may be used for class newsletters, classroom bulletin boards, open house events, class projects and/or in center decorations. No pictures will ever be sold.

  • MEDICAL RELEASE:

    Any medication prescribed or over the counter, required to be given to your child during school hours must be handed directly to your child’s teacher or the director with a completed medication authorization form.

    I authorize qualified emergency medical professionals to examine and in the event of injury or serious illness, administer emergency care to the above named child(ren). I understand every effort will be made to contact me to explain the nature of the problem prior to any involved treatment.
    In the event it becomes necessary for Discovery Village to obtain emergency care for my child, neither the staff or Discovery Village assumes financial liability for expensed incurred because of the accident, injury, illness and/or unforeseen circumstances.

    The undersigned client hereby acknowledges that he/she proceeds at the client’s own risk, and indemnifies and holds harmless Discovery Village, its employees, owners and agents, for any injury, act, or liability, whether intentional or otherwise, that occurs to the client or his/her family as a result of the use of the services and premises provided by Discovery Village. This includes but is not limited to bodily injury, mental distress, financial loss, loss of personal property and all other forms of loss.
