FaB Wisconsin has the opportunity to collaborate with Milwaukee Area Technical College to apply for a Wisconsin Technical College System "Workforce Advancement Training (WAT) Grant."
The WAT Grant supports employers in their efforts to retain and advance skills of their workforce. This competitive grant opportunity enables small, medium, and large businesses to grow by implementing training projects addressing needs for multiple categories of employees and topics.
If awarded, the grant would cover 65% of the cost of training and would run August 1, 2024 - August 30, 2025. If you would commit to one or more of these training opportunities should the grant be awarded, we'd appreciate you filling out this brief interest form. Thank you in advance for your participation!
Classes can have between (6-24) participants. MATC would invoice each business for the number of employees participating in each training. MATC's contracted training rate is $200/instructional hour plus participant books/materials (typically under $50/participant for soft skill training). Listed below is how a Shared Cost Model would work if multiple employers send employees to a group training.
EXAMPLE: An 8-hour training for (12) participants would cost $1600 (instruction) plus ($50 x12) $600 for books/materials equating to $2200. The WAT grant would cover 65% of the cost which would bring the class cost down to $770 ($2200 x 35%). The participant cost would then be $64.17/participant ($770 /12).
