National Youth Theatre's Age Policy Guidance
Disability
If you are learning disabled or neurodivergent and have an EHCP you can take part in NYT opportunities including auditions, courses, productions and other membership opportunities up to the age of 30.
We recognise you may have been diagnosed learning disabled or neurodivergent after school or may be in the process of diagnosis. If you are disabled or neurodivergent but don’t have a EHCP then taking part post-25 is at the discretion of NYT.
We ask that within this form you provide some evidence, which could include the way you’re currently being supported by Disability Living Allowance, Personal Independence Payments, support through an access to work scheme or other equivalent evidence. We don’t ask for this evidence to invade your privacy but with the aim of providing equality of access across our programmes.
If you have a long-term health condition you can also apply to take part in NYT activity up to the age of 30.
If you would like to speak to someone about your experience of equality at National Youth Theatre or have any comments on this policy you can email equality@nyt.org.uk or call us on 020 3696 7066
