GUIDELINES

Please read this application form in full and complete all required and relevant sections.

Applications must be completed in ENGLISH.

Please write “Not Applicable” wherever appropriate.

If you are a member this application is free, however a non-refundable fee of £130 is required from non-members. A payment link will be sent to you via email, once the application has been received at HQ.

The following must be included with your application (see Checklist Reminder at the end of this form):

- Copies of certificates of relevant qualifications

- Referee name and contact details

Once completed, please return your completed form with all relevant additional documents by clicking on 'Submit' at the end of the form.

On receipt of the above, the Education & Training Department will contact you regarding the next steps.

Terms and Conditions of the APEL Scheme
Please note that the terms and conditions listed below relate entirely to the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) Scheme only.

Application Processing: Applications received by 30th October 2024 will be processed by 31st January 2025.

Authority and Procedure: Applications will be considered by the APEL Panel comprising of the Head of Startegic Projects & Development Actitivies and Dancesport and Theatre faculty representatives. Applicants will be invited to attend a short interview with the APEL Panel online to discuss their application and future training interests. APEL Panel recommendations will be sent to an Internal Panel and then to the Qualifications and Development Committee (QDC) for approval. QDC decision is final.

Validity: Successful candidates will receive a letter which will serve as a proof of exemption from the entry requirements to take the named examination within a time frame of 3 years from the date of the letter.

In case the successful candidate is unable to appear for the named examination within 3 years, the candidate would have to re-apply to seek an exemption under the APEL scheme.

Data Protection: Any personal data provided will be held and processed in accordance with the requirements of the 1998 Data Protection Act. The ISTD will process your personal data in accordance with the data protection principles; take appropriate measures to safeguard personal information and keep it for no longer than necessary. The ISTD may use the information to contact you on matters related to dance and the ISTD in which it believes you may have an interest.
