Meeting People Where They Are, To Serve Families Everywhere
All families deserve to be safe on the road.
Far too often, however, geographical, cultural, linguistic, educational, and/or financial barriers prevent families from accessing lifesaving child passenger safety education, resources, and assistance.
As a leader in child passenger safety programming, Buckle Up for Life - a community program from Cincinnati Children's and Toyota - embraces its mission to serve families everywhere.
Through its national network of partner organizations, the program has 20 years of experience navigating barriers of all types to serve passenger needs across 50 U.S. states and beyond.
In this session, a panel of past and present Buckle Up for Life partners will share successful approaches to meet people where they are, through traveling programs, virtual programming, multilingual and culturally relevant education, and more.
Participants will gain perspective on new ways to serve families, will learn about resources available to them, and will be encouraged to share their own experiences and successes.

Laws that Make Sense: "The Good, Bad and Ugly" and How To Do It the Right Way
The session is first and foremost to show advocates how they can fix their State laws and make them make sense in today's society. Most advocates do not realize they can write a law themselves. This session will also talk about the best practices to fix your respective law and how to prepare to do so. We will discuss the benefits of going after change and also some of the setbacks that come from it. As a group, we will also discuss what the "ideal" law should look like.

Every Child, Every Ride...WORLDWIDE!
Nine-in-ten of the 1.3 million annual deaths from road crashes occur in low and middle-income countries, where the use of vehicle occupant restraints remains low. Vehicles on these roads are proliferating much faster than the necessary accompanying life-saving infrastructure, and the attention to the safety of children lags significantly. In many countries, setting and enforcing strong CPS laws, working to ensure the correct fitting and use of child safety restraints, and enforcing vehicle and car seat safety standards is a work in progress.
This session will cover the worldwide status of CPS and plans for the future from the perspective of global pioneers, both CPSTs and non-tech advocates. We will discuss the viability of a universal curriculum, how best to teach the US curriculum outside of the US, how to mentor non-tech pioneers, and ways to support the international caregiver. Comparing and contrasting the sea of diverse research-driven regulations and standards will be woven throughout.
About Global CPS: The group of international pioneers driving this session seek to promote worldwide dialogue concerning safe rides for all children. Global CPS acts as a body for worldwide CPS awareness and provides a forum to share information, with an emphasis on supporting countries new to CPS. The intention is to assist with the introduction of widespread use of child restraint systems (CRS) around the globe.

Building a Successful CPS Program
In the world of safety, multiple factors play a role in the work we do to prevent injuries and deaths. Often programs struggle to develop programs that incorporate a holistic approach. They ultimately silo themselves into a single intervention strategy that fails to address the multiple layers of cause and effect in injuries and deaths as well as their efforts to prevent them.
Systems thinking, as a foundation for strategic planning within a complex, multi-sector system, integrates and connects otherwise silo-ed organizations and processes to fulfill on a clear mission.
The purpose of this session is to foster participant engagement in a holistic approach in the development of a high-level strategic plan to begin to connect the dots to build better programs in their communities.
