Join the Jewish Community Foundation Orange County’s Weissman Arts, UCI New Swan Shakespeare Center, and the ADL as we welcome theatre dybbuk back to Orange County. UCI's The Little Theater debuts the OC rendition of The Merchant of Venice (Annotated), or In Sooth I Know Not Why I Am So Sad. Written and directed by Aaron Henne, this provocative theatre uses contemporary and early modern texts and music to blend Shakespeare, history, and contemporary social discourse to explore prejudice + antisemitism today.
The run time is approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes, including one 15 minute intermission. Generally suitable for ages 14 and up.
Refreshments with kosher options will be served outdoors during intermission. Space is wheelchair accessible, and parking is available. Details regarding access and directions to the theater will be sent 48 hours prior to the show date.
