The Philadelphia Project MLK Day of Service 2024

We are excited to host this family day of service on MLK Day! Adults without kids and small groups are welcome and encouraged to come out. We have put together service sites that will work for a variety of family ages and sizes and that will impact our community and futher our mission in a variety of ways!

For families with children, we are intending for parents and kids to work alongside each other. Families can divide up as long as one adult is with each group and is within the age and ratios we outline below for each site. If you have any questions, please contact us at trip@thephillyproject.org.

Information about addresses, what to bring, and release waivers will be sent after you sign up. Each person will need to fill out a release form. A minor release form will be provided for each child under 18.

This day of service is completely free! If you would like to make a donation to help us further our impact you can do so at the end of this form or on our website at www.thephillyproject.org/donate

Please make sure to pack a lunch & water bottles for the day! We will not be providing meals.

Service Site 1: Atonement Church, Germantown

You will be creating community care packages: Including a handwritten note, a book, and some goodies!

Service Site 2: TPP Housing Site, Mt. Airy

You'll be constructing a Gaga Pit!

Ages 12+

Service Site 3: Home Repair, Mt Airy

You'll be painting a third floor room as well as prepping a second floor room for paint.

Service Site 4: Roxy Preschool, Roxborough

You'll be cleaning preschool rooms & hallways, organizing books & putting together crafts and learning about MLK. This is an excellent opporutnity for younger children to serve with their parents.

You'll be cleaning toys, equipment, and play area for the daycare located within Wissahickon Church.
