FAMILY RECONCILIATION RETREAT

We are very excited for you and your child to participate in the Family Reconciliation Retreat. This is the first of two required retreats for First Communion. This retreat offers both parents and children the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the sacrament of reconciliation.

Parents are the first educators in their child’s faith. Although children receive formation in the religious education program, more importantly they are learning from you in the home. By participating in the retreat, you are showing you are committed to learning more about your faith and support your child as they prepare for the sacraments.

Participation in the Family Reconciliation Retreat is REQUIRED to receive First Reconciliation. At least one parent is asked to attend. If parents are not able to attend, you may send a trusted adult, such as a grandparent or aunt/uncle, to take your place. At least one adult must attend with the child! If there is absolutely no way you and your child can attend the retreat, a makeup option is available.

We are not able to attend the Family Retreat. I will complete an at-home activity packet with my child AND I will attend the 3 required makeup sessions on January 18, January 25 & February 1 from 6-8pm.
