Adopting a cat entails a substantial commitment that may require lifestyle adjustments. Cats can live for more than 15 years and many are sadly euthanised annually due to owners not considering the future. It's important to be aware that cats may experience health issues that necessitate expensive medical treatment. Additionally, cats require attention, affection and love. Please confirm your readiness to undertake this responsibility.

To finalise this adoption process, it is necessary to meet your prospective kitten or cat at our foster adoption site, accompanied by a representative from Kitten Rescue Australia. By submitting this application, you acknowledge and consent to this final step in the approval process. It is important to understand that if either Kitten Rescue Australia or the potential adopter(s) determine that the cat or kitten is not a suitable match, the adoption will not be approved or finalised. Please provide your name in the space provided to confirm.

Adoption Agreement Clause:

I, the undersigned adopter, agree to the terms and conditions set forth by Kitten Rescue Australia for the adoption of a kitten/cat. By signing this agreement, I acknowledge and accept the following:

Adoption Fee: I understand that the adoption fee for kittens/cats is $350. Pedigree $850. This fee covers all necessary vet work, including F3 vaccinations, microchipping, desexing, and up-to-date flea and worming treatments.

Readiness for Adoption: I acknowledge that kittens are generally ready to leave the care of Kitten Rescue Australia at around 12 weeks old, but this timeframe may vary depending on the individual kitten's development.

Bonded Pairs Priority: I understand that those interested in adopting bonded pairs will be prioritized, and a reduced adoption fee may apply.

Payment and Reservation: Upon choosing a kitten/cat for adoption, I agree to pay a 50% deposit to reserve the kitten/cat. The remaining 50% of the adoption fee must be paid in full before collecting the kitten/cat on the adoption day.

Change of Mind and Deposit Allocation: If, for any reason, there is a change of mind or the chosen kitten/cat is no longer suitable, I acknowledge that the 50% deposit is non-refundable. However, the deposit will be allocated to the adoption of another available kitten/cat of my choice. This process ensures that the deposit contributes to the overall adoption process.

Long-Term Responsibility: I understand that adopting a kitten/cat is a long-term commitment. I am aware of the responsibilities involved in providing proper care, attention, and a loving home for the adopted pet. I am committed to meeting the physical and emotional needs of the kitten/cat throughout its life.
