The "Blueprint for Maryland’s Future" is a law passed by the Maryland General Assembly in 2021 to transform public education in Maryland. A focus of this legislation is to provide individualized career guidance to Middle and High School students.
Frederick County Workforce Services (FCWS), in partnership with Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) and Frederick Community College (FCC), will be providing career awareness, exploration opportunities, and guidance for all Middle and High School students in FCPS.
A key piece of this initiative provides an opportunity for increased partnership between business/industry and the local school system.
Here's where you come in: we are seeking partners -- like you -- to join this initiative and share with FCPS students information about the career possibilities, detailed skills, and what it looks like to enter the workforce in your field.
There will be three options for engagement with students: 1) at their schools (you visit in person); 2) virtually; 3) at your place of business (students visit in person).
Start engaging with students by completing the form, indicating your preference/s for participation.
A member of the FCWS Youth Team will immediately follow-up to acknowledge receipt of your request, answer any questions, and provide guidance on next steps.
