    Expectations and Behaviors

In order to provide a quality working environment, excellent support to our families, and a strong, stable future, these are specific behaviors that are expected of all employees and volunteers.

    • Mission driven: We make sure everything we do points to our mission, is in the best interest of our families and improves the families’ overall experience. We treat all (staff, families, volunteers, stakeholders) with the utmost care and understanding, choosing to use empathy and compassion. We are dedicated to the mission and make program, processes and policy decisions that are in the best interest of the organization and the families we serve. We have a sense of ownership and pride in what we do and how we are viewed by our overall community.

    • Teamwork: We work together towards a common goal with each member pulling their fair share. The phrase “it’s not my job” doesn’t exist. We clarify roles and owners of projects. We trust and know that we will do what we say and will meet our commitments, completing processes and tasks accurately. We support each member in the pursuit of their goals and do our part to achieve our own goals.

    • Authentic: We respect each other’s differences and ideas. We are transparent, honest and have the courage to openly communicate with each other to resolve issues. We don’t talk behind each other’s backs, nor do we complain outside of meetings when we disagree with decisions. We operate with accountability and transparency.

    • Quality Driven: We achieve our goals without being wasteful of time, money and resources. We practice efficiency. We challenge the phrase “we’ve always done it this way” and think outside the box. We seek in-kind support from our community as often as possible to ultimately expand our reach to families in need.

    • Learning and Development: We regularly learn something new and share our knowledge and ideas with others.

    • Leadership: We align our behaviors and objectives to the organization’s core values, mission and objectives.
