Tier 1 Expectations
Having a player on a more competitive team will come with certain expectations from the team. Parents and players are
asked to read and sign this form to confirm their understanding of what this experience will entail.
● This team will travel to a number of tournaments outside of their local area. Provincials are also a tournament that this team is expected to play in and often it is also outside of our local area. The expectation will be to have your daughter attend these tournaments. This will depend on Provincial Restrictions.
● Tier 1 teams conduct one or more practices each week in addition to games. The expectation will be to attend practice, this can affect playing time.
● Our Tier 1 team players will have opportunities to play most positions, but those that show aptitude toward certain positions will be given priority during Tournaments, Playoffs and Provincials.
● The expectation is dedication when joining a competitive team. Attendance issues will result in playing time adjustments.
● To facilitate the extra practice times, field rental fees, tournament fees and equipment needs, there is an expectation that the team will conduct fundraising activities.
● The expectation for start time for games and practices is generally 45-60 minutes early, players are ready to take
the field and start warming up at this time, not start to get ready.
● Parents will be required to help the coaches with practices and preparations before games, the coaching staff will set out the requirements at their pre-season team meeting. It is expected to have all parents help in some way.
● A $50 additional registration fee per athlete will be required if the Tier 1 team is placed in the Calgary Minor Softball Association’s Tier 1 Division.
