Sidekicks of West Michigan maintains a hands-off policy once individuals enter the restroom. Is your individual fully independent in completing all hygiene tasks while using the restroom?
Sidekicks of West Michigan prioritizes the safety and well-being of everyone involved in our programs. Individuals who exhibit behaviors that compromise the safety of peers or staff may not be a suitable fit for our program. This includes both physical and verbal behaviors. Has your individual experienced any episodes of physical or verbal behaviors directed toward adults or peers within the last six months?
Sidekicks of West Michigan is a community-based program designed to foster independence while ensuring a positive and safe experience for all participants. Individuals are supervised in small groups with a staff-to-participant ratio of 1:3-5. Please note that our programs do not allow parents, caregivers, CLS workers, or respite providers to attend outings, as supervision is exclusively provided by our trained staff. Is your individual able to participate safely and effectively in a small group setting, considering factors such as pace, stamina, medication management, and overall safety?
