Membership in Salmagundi Club, established in 1871, opens the door to an exhilarating world of art: colorful gallery exhibitions; painting demonstrations by nationally recognized artists; classes in drawing and painting; and a host of social activities.
The Salmagundi Club is a 501(c)(3) organization.

Resident members must reside within a 50-mile radius of New York City. Minimum House Charges are $50 every quarter.
Non-Resident members must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the Club. NonResident Members who wish to participate as officers or on committees can do so provided they:
Applies to those who are between the ages of 31 and 35, resident or non-resident artist or patron.
Minimum House Charges are $50 every quarter for residents.
Applies to Resident or Non-Resident Artist between the ages of 21 through 30. Scholarship members are required to submit to two exhibitions, annually.
A Member Spouse has all the social privileges of the Club, but may not exhibit artwork.
As an artist applicant, either resident or non-resident, your application must be accompanied by 8 - 10 different examples of your work, preferably in the same genre. Digital images should be high resolution and at 300 DPI to judge work accurately.

You must also provide a list of works in .doc format.
Three signatures required: a Proposer and two Sponsors.
For applicants outside of the 50-mile radius, only a Proposer and one Sponsor is required. If you live too far to obtain signatures easily, please call 212-255-7740 for further assistance.
Please either upload a recommendation letter, or have your sponsors email us at clubsecretary@salmagundi.org using the email subject "Membership Recomendation." Recommendations may be brief, such as "I happily recommend John Smith for Membership in the Salmagundi Club."
