if your tattoo has a derm bandage
≈
-Leave the bandage on for 3-5 days as recommended by me when you left. It will protect your tattoo during its healing process.
-During your derm days, The plasma and ink in the bandage is normal and jump starts the healing process. (DO NOT POP).
-you may shower regularly and go about your regular day to day business.
-Do not submerge in water (shower, swimming, etc) it’s not water proof just resistant.
~
WHAT TO LOOK FOR, FOR ALLERGIC REACTIONS~
-if there is a red ring on edge of bandage, take off as soon as possible.
may be allergic. Don't freak out if you're stuck at work . It can wait a little. You wouldn't want it to get dirt or grease in the tattoo.
≈
TAKING DERM BANDAGE OFF
≈
-After the 3-5 days, (if not taking off in shower which I suggest after washing your body) wash hands throughly and dry with a clean paper towel.
-peel a top corner of the bandage up. When you have a good grip on it put under warm running water, pull down over tattoo not up (easier and less bandaid pain)
-Once it has all been removed, wash your tattoo with unscented soap (gold dial is what I use) and warm water.
-Pat it dry with a clean paper towel.
≈
AFTER DERM BANDAGE IS OFF OR YOU DIDNT GET ONE
≈
-(if no derm bandage was applied) when getting home take barrier off (saran Wrap) no more than 3 hours after tattoo.
-Wash hands then wash tattoo with non scented soap and then wash up to 3 times a day
-Use unscented lotion for the remainder of the healing process such as Lubriderm (NEVER Neosporin or medical lotions.)
-Apply A small thin layer of lotion. It is all you will need, and only when tattoo is dry.
-there is also other tattoo ointments out there you can use such as Tattoo goo, Ink eeze, Sorry Mom butter, etc.
-Never goop it up and make it look shiny, it needs to breathe, yes your skin breathes.
≈
THE DO NOT LIST
≈
-Obviously no swimming
-Or tanning.
-No picking, scratching, harsh rubbing, biting , etc.
-it will get dry some times, it’s okay, some times you got to let it do its thing.
-Do not let your animals lick it or rub against it.
-Do not sleep with animals during healing process. You won’t be able to watch then licking your tattoo. -Hair and slobber can hurt tattoo and any other healing damages to skin.
