Below are the guidelines for applying to the Jenni House Residency. Please read them carefully.

Eligibility:
- Open to Professional and emerging artists from the Yukon, and northern neighbours (northern BC, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Alaska and circumpolar nations)
Eligible Projects:
Residencies are available for research, development and production of ongoing or new bodies of work. Projects must be appropriate for the Jenni House (approximately 18’ x 18’) and are most suitable if they do not require access to specialized equipment. Some projects would be more suited to the warmer summer months, May – August. There are no opening windows in the Jenni House. The building has an alarmed security system.
Projects may be undertaken by:
- visual artists such as painters, sculptors, carvers or illustrators creating a new work or developing ideas for new work
- media artists using the space for research/writing/production/creation of a film or media art project
- musicians writing, composing, arranging and/or recording new music (including improvisational)
- poetry and prose writers using the house as a place for writing and editing their work
- multi-disciplinary/multi-media artists.
Some of the monthly residencies may be allocated to specific disciplines and others are open to all practices.
Community Engagement Requirement:
Resident artists are required to host one community engagement activity (e.g. an open studio, workshop, performance, artist talk, screening or other event) that relate to their ongoing work or the work they are producing in the Jenni House/Chambers House.
Fees, Financial Assistance & Support:
Resident artists have 24 hour access to the Jenni House/Chambers House building and receive an honoraria of $1000/month and a $100 material allowance for public engagement (Ie workshop supplies, food for reception). Allowance towards travel, accommodation and subsistence may be offered if applicable.
Accommodation is not provided as part of the Jenni House Artist Residency, but economical options within walking distance are generally available.
ArtsNet and its partners are available to help resident artists make connections with Yukon artists and the public.
Selection:
- Selections will be made by ArtsNet and its partners, and/or invited guest jurors including other artists and art professionals.
- Residency applications will be judged based on the following criteria: creativity, public interaction, overall quality, and demonstration of artistic ability.
The submission of entries/images does not guarantee you will be selected for participation in the Jenni House Residency.
