    BUSH TO BEACH 2024

Friday 26th January, Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th January
  • "Bush to Beach is dedicated to inspiring hope, confidence, self-esteem and promoting education for our great Aussie bush kids."

    Hello Surf Club Members,

We are excited to have Bush 2 Beach back for its 19th year at South Narrabeen SLSC. We look forward to putting on some great activities and fun for these kids up and down the beaches across multiple clubs.

This year, around 35 outback kids from far north-western NSW will come to the Northern Beaches for a three-day surf camp to learn new skills, build confidence, and experience an environment unlike the one they know.

Since the program began, 600 plus children from northwest NSW have attended a Bush to Beach camp. The program participants must attend school throughout the year to take part, and, as a result, Brewarrina and surrounding areas have reported reduced truancy.

“Over the last 12 years, we have watched school attendance and behaviour improve, as the kids have a real reward to look forward to at the end of the year. The program has such a huge positive impact on the behaviour and morale of the students, which flows through to the wider community."

    We need your help.

We are looking for amazing bronzes, SRC and water safety legends to help these kids have the most amazing experience possible. I know you are a dedicated volunteer with Surf Life Saving and put in countless hours to make our beaches safe. I hope we can encourage you to spend some time over the weekend with these kids and help give them the most beautiful experience and show them what is possible. You are not just Life Saver. You are a mentor a coach you are sharing experiences and leading these kids on a journey that could change their lives.

We have several spots available that will hopefully fit your schedule over the weekend. The locations will be primarily South Narrabeen, North Narrabeen and Collaroy, as we will be subject to surf conditions for activities like Surfing.

If you have any queries, please call or email me at the number below.
