There are a few requirements: the individual being interviewed must have video and audio technology capability, stable internet connection, and a location in which they can be alone in the space. The observing investigators can provide their own HIPAA-compliant platform, otherwise, NFIN will provide a HIPAA-compliant platform. It is preferable that the individual does not have significant intellectual or communicative disabilities that will impair the communication between the individal and interviewer. It is also preferable that the individual is at least10 years of age; if a younger child needs a virtual interview, please contact NFIN at dula@thenfin.org to discuss the case. During the course of the interview, there will be an opportunity for the interviewer to have a conversation with the involved investigators prior to the conclusion of the interview.
