Psychological Resilience
  • PSYCHOLOGICAL RESILIENCE

Brief Resilience Scale (Smith et al., 2008)
  • Psychological resilience is the process of adapting well in the face of trauma, threats, or significant sources of stress - such as family and relationship problems, serious health problems, or financial stressors. As much as resilience involves “bouncing back” from these difficult experiences, it can also involve profound personal growth. Becoming more resilient not only helps you get through difficult circumstances, but it also empowers you to grow and even improve your life along the way.

Please respond to each item by using the following scale of options.

  • 1. I tend to bounce back quickly after hard times.*
  • 2. I have a hard time making it through stressful events.*
  • 3. It does not take me long to recover from a stressful event.*
  • 4. It is hard for me to snap back when something bad happens.*
  • 5. I usually come through difficult times with little trouble.*
  • 6. I tend to take a long time to get over setbacks in my life.*
