    'Glide Revitalization Skilled Trades Scholarship' Application Form

  • Glide Revitalization is proud to announce the 'Glide Revitalization Skilled Trades Scholarship' (GRSTS), an initiative to support the next generation of skilled trade professionals from Glide High School. The scholarship, valued at $1,500, is designed to assist students and alumni pursuing trade programs in welding, electrical work, plumbing, HVAC, mechanics, technician work, and related disciplines.

     

    This scholarship will support first-year trade or vocational students who have graduated from Glide High School. 

     

    This scholarship is named the “Glide Revitalization Skilled Trades Scholarship” to honor the rich history of trade professionals and the past timber industry of Glide, Oregon. 

     

    Glide High School graduates or alumni planning to enter their first year of a trade program or vocational school are eligible to apply.

    Applicants with prior college experience are eligible, provided they are entering their first year of a trade or vocational program aligned with this scholarship. 

    This cohort can include any age group or educational level that is attending a two-year college or vocational-technical school who are pursuing a trade degree/certificate in an industry aligned with the Glide Revitalization Skilled Trades Scholarship Goals - including but not limited to Construction, Welding, Electrical, Mechanics, Plumbing, Technician work, and related disciplines.

  • Read and follow the instructions carefully prior to submitting your application. All winners will be notified on or before the 1st of June 2026.

  • If selected, you will be asked for documentation to support the data you provide. Likewise, all correspondence and award agreements will be generated from the personal information submitted below. So, please use proper spelling, capitalization and punctuation.

The information is requested for post-scholarship report generation only and in no way affects your selection for college scholarship awards. However, providing this information may increase your opportunities for scholarships where donors have asked that priority consideration be given to students meeting certain demographic criteria (such as minority status, parent's place of employment, area of study, etc.)

    • How will a career in construction and/or the trades empower your future?

    • What does a skilled trade mean to you? Please provide 2-3 examples of what this might look like in practice.

    • Please tell us about ways in which you have demonstrated a heart of service to others.

    Essays are evaluated on clarity, alignment with the skilled trades, demonstrated service to others, and commitment to community.
