Sheffield Chess Centre Rapidplay - Sunday February 18th 2024

Open to all players. You should have ECF membership Silver or above, or else you will need to pay the non-member Pay To Play fee (£9) before Round 2.
Games: Players play all five games, starting at 12pm. You may request a single half-point bye at the time of entry (no HPB allowed round 4 or round 5). This competition will be ECF Rapidplay rated. Swiss system pairings.

This is an individual competition.

Venue: Sheffield Chess Centre, 329A Coleford Road, Sheffield, S9 5NF

Entry fee: £20 (general); £15 (SASCA/Sheffield Chess Centre members)

Capacity: 64 entries

Sections: Under 2000, Under 1500

Prizes (each section): £120, £60, £30 & grading prizes dependent on entries

Playing schedule:

Round 1 - 12pm

Round 2 - 1.15pm

Round 3 - 2.30pm

Round 4 - 3.45pm

Round 5 - 5pm

Time control: 20 mins/game + 5 second increment.

Prizegiving - please provide bank account details if you believe you have won a prize.

Food: Pizza, desserts, snacks, tea, coffee, soft drink will be available for purchase. Please try to order hot food one round in advance if possible.

Ratings: ECF rapidplay ratings from February 2024 will be used (full Standardplay will be preferred to no/provisional Rapid rating) to confirm sections.

Unrated players: should provide evidence of playing strength, and will be placed (at the organisers' discretion) into the appropriate section.

Parking: On street, or use the Furniture Warehouse car park.

When you finish your games, there is space for 20-25 people in our cafe area. The gym upstairs will also be available as overflow space and additional toilet facilities.

- I accept that the Arbiters' decisions are final in all matters.
- I agree to treat the venue and premises with respect.
- I agree to let the organisers know as soon as practical in the event that I am unable to attend, as maximum capacity rules may be in place.
- If I am not happy to be included in any photographs for publicity purposes, I agree to inform the organisers.
- Entries after February 11th will be subject to a late fee of £2.50. Withdrawals will be refunded only until February 11th.
