TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. Payment conditions and services included
Price: 350 EUR + 930 EUR
Payment terms:
1st payment: 350 EUR as registration fee
2nd payment: 930 EUR, to be paid until latest one month before the camp starting date. A proof, either photo or screenshot of the payment confirmation has to be sent latest one month before camp date to JSurf by email: johanssonsantana.surfcamp@gmail.com
Payments (EUR) to be done according to invoice sent in the confirmation email.
Please make sure that the bank transfer costs are borne by youth and not by JSurfcamp. Payments from outside Europe to Portugal: By experience we have seen that most of the payments outside the European Union are automatically adding a part of the transfer charge on the receiver side. Therefore we advice outside European Union payments to use WISE, https://wise.com
Services included in Price:
-Accommodation in shared rooms in a surf hostel, boys and girls are separated
-Meals - Breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner
-Surf lessons in group given by local certified surf school and individual equipment provided (wetsuit and surfboard)
-Activities according to the Program, see section 11
-Accident insurance, see section 3
-Photos not specifically sorted to individual youth. Personalized photo pack see below
-T-shirt
Services with an additional cost:
Transport from the airport to the hostel and back, see paragraph 4 here below
100 EUR: Personalised photo pack 8-10 photos of the youth in surfing activities including 1 GoPro video, photos of Baleal beach and the spot for our cultural tour. If due to a major constraint (youth is not participating in all surf lessons or other reasons) one of the photo pack items is not possible to collect, JSurf will not refund the fee.
2. Cancellation
Cancellation must be in written form by email to johanssonsantana.surfcamp@gmail.com
The youth can cancel the registration for any reason up to June 15th 2024. The registration deposit (350 EUR) is not refundable however the youth is not obliged to execute the 2nd payment.
All cancellations after June 15th 2024 are not refundable. Both 1st payment (registration fee) and 2nd payment are not refundable.
In case of cancellation by JSurf or the youth, the flights to and from Lisbon airport remain on the entire responsibility of the youth. JSurf will not refund any transportation costs from country of origin to and from Portugal.
In case of major problems, JSurf can exceptionally cancel the camp (example: accident/health problem with the JSteam, Covid, other pandemia or hostels not functional etc.) In that case the 2nd payment (930 EUR) will be refunded but the registration fee (350 EUR) is not refundable. Any other costs associated with the decision to come to the JSurf as for example related with flights or whatsoever beared by the youth will not be compensated by JSurf.
3. Insurances
The youth is responsible to have his/her own health insurance valid in Portugal during the camp dates.
JSurf CAMP insures the participants for personal accident, according to the Portuguese law N°32/2011 and “Portaria N°629/2004 for all activities outside surf which includes
- Death and permanent disability due to an accident (8 times national minimum wage)
- Medical expenses due to accident (10 times national minimum wage)
- Funeral expenses due to accident (8 times national minimum wage)
The surf school has a sport insurance, personal accident valid during the surf lessons included in the Price
4. Transport responsibilities and costs
Transport/flights from the country of origin to Lisbon airport are organised by the youth on the youth’s own costs and responsibility.
JSurf is organising transfer both ways between Lisbon airport and the camp for an additional cost of:
20 EUR: arrivals (first day) up to 16 o’clock
20 EUR: departures (last day) after 12 o'clock
80 EUR: per trip per person - in case of late arrival and/or early departure
Transfer from another airport can be arranged only in common agreement between JSurf and youth/parents. JSurf reserves the right to decline if the organisation is not appropriate or ask for extra payments.
JSurf is responsible for all transport in the frame of activities during the camp days.
5. Photos and videos
The youth gives to JSurf the image rights of the pictures/videos taken while attending the camp and expressly authorised JSurf to its diffusion and reproduction for any advertisement of JSurf CAMP
The participants will get access to the photos taken by JSurf photographer during the camp under condition that the youth identify @jsurfcamp_ on social medias.
The photos taken during the camp show a mix of all participants and therefore the youth agrees to share his/her own image rights within the group of participants.
6. Meals
The goal of JSurf is to serve mainly Portuguese high quality local meals which normally means vegetable soup for entrance and fish or meat as base.
Abusive complaints, for example daily negative comments regarding the food served is giving a negative vibe to the group and can be a reason to be sent home on the costs of the youth.
For the moment vegan meals cannot be offered.
There is the possibility of having a vegetarian option. Once you have marked in your registration that you are vegetarian you have to be vegetarian for the whole camp.
Small changes can be made for special diets such as not eating porc or lighter allergies but to be confirmed with the JSurf team.
JSurf waives all the responsibility related with potential allergies arising from the food served.
7. Bookings limitation
The registrations are accepted by order of receival taking into account that a balance between boys/girls, age and mixture of nationalities and JSurf will confirm to the youth his/her registration within 3 weeks. JSurf reserves the right to reject registrations because of the limited number of places available or to ask participants to stay on the waiting list. In that case any payments done by youth to JSurf will be entirely refunded.
8. Alcohol, drugs and smoking
Consumption of drugs are strictly forbidden during the camp inside and outside the camp site.
Alcohol is accepted for youth having the age according to the Portuguese law and in a reasonable amount. If the JSurf judges the behaviour non appropriate, the JSurf staff has the right to send the youth home after warning and before the planned Camp end-date on the costs of the youth.
Alcohol and drugs are changing behaviors. JSurf organisation is waiving all responsibility in case of incidents, accidents and damages caused under the effect of these substances.
Smoking is forbidden in the hostels, balconies as well as the garden of the hostel.
9. Survey and Reclamation book
To improve and better serve our clients the youth's are asked to fill in the camp survey sent by JSurf team by email after the camp. The camp evaluation is anonymous and treated by the JSurf team.
JSurf informs as well that the legal way to complain/give your opinion (positively as well as negatively) in Portugal is to fill in JSurf CAMP's reclamation book (which is optional) that you find under the link here below

10. Personal data and confidentiality
JSurf will not deliberately use the personal data received from each youth for other purposes than the one strictly necessary for the organisation of the JSurf camp.
