  • In an effort to operate a viable local business, provide an opportunity to generate revenue from your unwanted apparel, and support charitable organizations, the following procedures have been established.

    CONSIGNMENT DETAILS:

All rights of pricing & discounting items are at the store owners discretion.
The consignment split is 60% Boutique and 40% Consigner for a period of 75 days.  From 75-100 days the split changes to 70/30.  100-150 days the split will be 80/20.  After 150 days, items are considered a donation to our cause.

Consignment proceeds are available by store credit immediately upon sale of items. Checks can be issued when account balance exceeds $75 (venmo is also an option).  As an incentive to use your earnings as store credit or donate them to the JCAPS animal shelter fund, a $5 check fee will apply when payouts are issued.

    GUIDELINES FOR APPAREL:

Each consignor is allowed to bring in up to 20 items in a 40 day period.  This number is subject to change due to limited space on site, if we fall behind on processing or other unforseen circumstances that may arise.

Spring/Summer are accepted March-July.  Examples: tanks, cold shoulder tops, sleeveless dresses, skirts, shorts, capris, swimwear, sandals

Fall/Winter are accepted September-January.  Examples: jackets, sweaters, hoodies, long sleeve dresses, boots, scarves

4 Season items are accepted year round.  Examples: t-shirts, jeans, maxi-skirts, purses, jewelry

Please note: Items brought in during the incorrect season may be put into the JCAPS fundraising account.  February & August are dontation only months for animal shelter fundraising purposes.  These months are considered 4 season months. Items that can be worn year round appreciated.

    GUIDELINES FOR CONSIGNED ITEMS:

We accept ladies & mens clothing, shoes, accessories and purses. Apparel must be freshly laundered: free of debris, pet hair & unpleasant odors.  Shoes should be thouroughly cleansed.  Items must be in excellent condition.  New or like-new condition is preferred.  Brand Name items are preferred. Sizing tags must be attached & legible or the item may be donated.  Items deemed unsuitable for the sales floor will be donated to charity.

As of February 1, 2026: CHILDREN's CLOTHING is no longer eligible for consignment.  Donation ONLY & will go towards fundraising purposes.

Please be mindful that our store is operated by one person; so I can’t guarantee your items will be reviewed immediately. Please allow up to 4 weeks for processing and tagging.  As a policy, I do not return items to consigners in the event that an item doesn’t sell or is deemed unsuitable for the sales floor.  Please review consignor responsibilities below.

  • CONSIGNOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Sift through items in advance. Include only the items that meet quality standards:  check for evident wear & tear, holes, stains, pet hair & debris, fade, snags, broken zippers, missing buttons, tarnish, tangles, etc.  We have limited space to store unwanted/unsellable inventory.  Items should be clean and freshly laundered (please avoid giving me the ick).  Any items deemed unsuitable for the sales floor will be donated.

    2. Label & collect your containers. For items to be credited to the proper account, ALL CONTAINERS SHOULD BE LABELED with your first and last name or consignor number. As we have limited space, it is your responsibility to retreive containers in a timely manner if you need them back.

    3. Notify us of any address or information changes. This ensure checks, emails & calls are sent to the correct location.

    4. Join our Kind Closet Consignors group on Facebook.  This is the easiest way for us to bulk notify consigners when people are looking for specific items or a change happens in the quantity allowed to bring in, etc.

    5. Share posts on Social Media platforms. If you want your items to sell faster, we need your help to spread the word that we have good things available here.  Don't have social media?  Word of mouth is the best form of advertising!  Remember to send people to our store.

    6. If you wish to reclaim unsold items, mark your calendar for 120 days after your dropoff date.  You will be responsible for gathering any unsold inventory for removal from the premisis before the ownership transfer date if you wish to reclaim.  Items must be scanned out to reclaim.  The reclaim period is 100-150 days. Reminders will not be sent out; as with the nature of consignment, most items are brought here because they are no longer wanted/needed by the consignor.  Items may be donated to charity at any time after 100 days or if deemed unsuitable for the sales floor without notice.

Please note: Reclaiming items may result in inelgibility to consign in the future; since it's considered a waste of our time & efforts to price your items.

  • By signing this agreement, I acknowledge that I have read and agree to the above terms and conditions.  I understand that unsuitable items will be donated to charity.  I agree to hold Kind Closet and personnel harmless in the event of inventory loss.  I have read and undertand all of my consigner responsibilities.
