Thank you for choosing to adopt through Empowering Pawz Rescue!

Empowering Pawz Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)3 based out of Calabash, NC. Our rescue is 100% volunteers and is 100% foster based with foster homes from Wilmington, NC to Myrtle Beach, SC. What this means is that all of the puppies and dogs available for adoption are in a foster home receiving great care and training. If you are interested in more than one of our available puppies or dogs, please understand that you may need to have multiple meet and greets, as we do not have one location where all of our puppies and dogs are housed. Adoption Fees start at $445 for puppies under 5 months of age and $295 for dogs over 5 months of age. All adoption fee information is located at the bottom of this application. Please understand that we take all applications into consideration, but ensuring that the puppy or dog has the best experience and that you have the best fit for your family and lifestyle is most important. We look forward to assisting you with finding your future furbaby!
Are you applying to Adopt or Foster-to-Adopt?
The Foster-to-Adopt option is only available to those puppies or dogs who are not currently in a foster home. By applying for this option, you are committing to adopt once the puppy/dog has had it's full vetting requirements per our policy. During the Foster-to-Adopt period, you are responsible for the following expenses: supplies such as food, puppy pads, and crate. Empowering Pawz will supply 1-month's worth of supplies. Empowering Pawz will cover all vet care and monthly prevention costs during the Foster-to-Adopt timeframe. Foster-to-Adopt applicants receive a $50 Adoption Fee Discount.

I understand that a 2 day trial period may be granted per decrection of an Empowering Pawz Director. After the 2 day trial period, the adopted dog is under the adoption will become official and I take full responsibility of myself and any listed caregivers. If after the 2 day trail, I decide that the dog is no longer a fit for my home I will contact the director of Empowering Pawz and will need to keep the dog until an approved foster is found.

I agree to not surrender the adopted dog to a shelter or rehome the dog. All surrendered dogs adopted through Empowering Pawz must be returned to a rescue group Director.

I agree to have Empowering Pawz complete reference call checks and conduct a home visit inspection to be able to approve my adoption application.

YOU ARE MAKING A MAJOR COMMITMENT WHEN YOU ADOPT ANY PET. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT DOGS CAN LIVE FOR OVER 20 OR MORE YEARS. THOUSANDS OF DOGS ARE KILLED AT ANIMAL SHELTERS EACH YEAR BECAUSE THEIR OWNERS DID NOT PLAN FOR THE FUTURE. DOGS CAN GET SICK AND REQUIRE EXPENSIVE MEDICAL TREATMENT DURING THE COURSE OF THEIR LIFE. DOGS NEED AFFECTION, ATTENTION AND UNDERSTANDING. YOU MAY HAVE TO ADJUST YOUR LIFESTYLE TO ACCOMMODATE A NEW PET. IF YOU ARE READY TO MAKE THIS COMMITMENT, PLEASE TYPE YOUR NAME BELOW:
Adoption Fees start at $295 for all dogs. All dogs adopted through Empowering Pawz have had the minimum age appropriate vaccines which would include:
- 5-in-1 Vaccine(DA2P+Parvovirus) *min. 2nd round
- Deworming
- Microchip if 5 months or older
- Rabies if 4 months or older
- Bordetella (if requested)
- HW Test if 6 months or older
- Alter (spay/neutered) if age appropriate 5mo or older
If your adopted dog is under 5 months of age and is not already altered (spayed/neutered), you will pay an additional $150 adoption fee and will receive an Empowering Pawz spay/neuter voucher. Once proof of alter is done, you will receive a $150 refund within 60-days of the alter from Empowering Pawz. You may choose to alter your dog through our low-cost clinics or through your primary vet. The voucher is only good for $150 of the total expenses. Please reference the "Alter (Spay/Neuter)" form for details.

Reimbursement schedule if the dog is returned to Empowering Pawz.
- 100% reimbursement if the dog is returned within 2 days.
- 50% reimbursement if the dog is returned after 2 days but within 14 days of adoption.
- No reimbursement given if the dog is returned after 14 days of adoption.
