OUTLINE

Dorset Tennis is keen to support all aspects of tennis in the county. In particular we are looking to assist the up and coming players that are seen to promote the county and be ambassadors at elite level to help them continue their improvement during a period where travelling to tournaments is becoming difficult to fund. In particular, we realise that Coaches are important to performance and for high grade tournaments we are providing assistance so that Coaches can attend tournaments. The funding assistance is only available if support cannot be achieved from other sources. 

CRITERIA

To be eligible to apply for Coach Financial Assistance, the player must be attending a Grade 1 or 2 national tournament and must set out in advance the reasons and benefits of the Coach attending. The Grant is made on the basis of covering some but not all of the Coach’s potential lost earnings.

Applications will be considered on a case by case basis depending on the funds available and the contribution that the candidate(s) both player and Coach have made to the profile of Dorset Tennis.  See application form below.

GRANT STRUCTURE

Dorset Tennis will support (at the present time) only part funding up to the maximum set out below.  The other costs must be supported by the candidate and/or the club or some other form of partnership funding. Grants provided to outstanding juniors to support national tournament play will be made on the basis of the experience of the Coach and his/her qualification level.

Level 3 - £140
Level 4 - £150
Level 5 - £160

TERMS & CONDITIONS

• Applicants must be committed Dorset tennis players having represented the County and be officially linked to a tennis club or school
• Applications must normally be submitted well in advance.
• Grants will only be released upon successful completion of the event – applicants will initially need to cover the full costs.  Please send proof of attendance at the competition and your bank details to annie.smith@dorsetlta.co.uk to claim the grant which will be paid by BACS.
• It is expected that the Applicant, both Player and Coach, will continue to support Dorset Tennis where they can.
• Payment will be made upon completion of the tournament, along with a written report of the player’s experience at the tournament, which can be used by Dorset Tennis on social media platforms e.g. Facebook, Instagram and website.
