    Friendship Animal Protective League
  • *All requests must be submitted a minimum of one month prior to the proposed event date*

    Thank you for your interest in partnering with the Friendship Animal Protective League and helping promote our mission within the community. Whether the event focuses on adoptions, fundraising, or promotion, we are happy to expand our audience! We are a private, independent, non-profit 501(c)(3) humane society founded in Elyria, Ohio. We own and operate the largest animal shelter in Lorain County and are dedicated to finding homes for homeless animals.

    Each event will be considered individually. Generally, some of the points we will focus on before approving the event are listed below:

    • Events located within Lorain County will be prioritized
    • Events scheduled within two weeks of our major fundraising events (Wags to Riches, Easter Egg-stravaganza, Golf Outing) will likely not be approved
    • Events that primarily benefit our organization will be prioritized
    • Events willing to create their own material and graphics will be prioritized
    • Events with a monetary donation component will be prioritized
    • Events requiring animal attendance but lasting longer than 2 hours will likely not be approved OR we will not be able to commit to having animals for the entire duration of the event for the health and safety of the animals
    • Events that limit our ability to sell merchandise, process adoptions or collect donations on site will likely not be approved 
    • Events that require a monetary deposit from our organization will NOT be approved
    • Politically charged events will NOT be approved

    Generally speaking we try to attend as many events as possible, but our staff and animals are our priority, so there may be times where we must say no. We require that all event requests be submitted a minimum of one month prior to the event date. We receive several requests a day and we do our best to accept as many requests as we can - this means that on some occasions more than one event will be booked on the same day. You will be notified via email if your event has been approved - and you will be contacted by our PR & Communications Manager within 72 hours of receiving the email to begin organizing the details.

  • Third party events are required to do their own PR. The Friendship APL will promote the event to the best of our ability as it fits into our established content calendar. Upon approval of the event, we will attach our logos, to which you can use our name and logos as you see fit with your materials. However, we ask you send us your promotional material that includes our likeness on it, for approval before distribution. This includes but is not limited to: flyers, social media posts, and press releases.


    The Friendship APL promotes all events to the best of our ability. By agreeing to partner and benefit from your event, we guarantee we will promote your event using at least (1) one of the below mediums. Please indicate your preferred platform:

    • Facebook (80k followers)
    • Instagram (4k followers)
    • Wesbite 
    • In-person at the shelter

    Please note Friendship APL is unable to:

    • Provide mailing lists
    • Pay for any costs associated with the event
    • Guarantee attendance
