The India Philanthropy Alliance (IPA) Youth Essay Competition is a national event that encourages philanthropic thought and action among middle and high school youth. Engaging youth is an important aspect of our mission as we work to foster a more robust and better recognized culture of giving among Indian-Americans and increase the scale and impact of philanthropy benefiting India.
One of the ways we further our mission is to increase exposure to this essay competition by sharing the essays, names, grade levels, city and state, and photos of competition winners, runners up, and finalists. We do this through a variety of mediums and news outlets that may include the IPA website and social media platforms, social media of our member organizations, traditional print and digital media, and online publications.
If you are selected as the winner, runner-up, or finalist in the 2024 Youth Essay Competition you and your parent or guardian will be asked for written permission to agree the following: I understand that if I, or my child or ward, should be elected winner, runner-up, or finalist in the competition, India Philanthropy Alliance, and their parent and member organizations, have my permission to feature my, or my child or ward’s, photo, name, grade level, city and state, and essay on their website(s) and in a variety of media and news outlets that may include social media, traditional print and digital media, and online publications.
