  • As a Tax Client, we need to collect the following information from you in order to begin to prepare your income tax return. Please do not submit until you have every tax document needed to file your taxes. 

     All clients (new and returning) are required to complete the client data sheet. You are able to save and return as needed. You will also have access to our client portal where all documents will be stored.

  • This letter confirms the terms and conditions of our engagement with you, for the preparation of your 2025 federal and state income tax returns. This agreement outlines the scope of services T & Co Tax will provide and delineates the responsibilities of both parties.

    1. Scope of Services: T & Co Tax will prepare your requested federal and state income tax returns for the 2025 tax year. Our services are strictly limited to tax preparation based on the information you provide. We will not audit, verify, or otherwise attest to the accuracy or completeness of the data you submit to us. This engagement is not designed to detect errors, fraud, or other illegal acts, and therefore, should not be relied upon for such purposes. However, should we discover any material errors, fraud, or illegal acts during the course of our engagement, we will promptly inform you.

    2. Client Responsibilities: You are solely responsible for providing all necessary information to enable the preparation of complete and accurate tax returns. You acknowledge and affirm that all information provided to T & Co Tax will be true, accurate, and complete to the best of your knowledge. You understand that you are required to possess and retain all supporting documentation to validate the information provided to us and reported on your tax returns.

    WARNING REGARDING ACCURACY AND PENALTIES: You understand that knowingly providing false or fraudulent information on your tax return, and subsequently submitting it to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or any state tax authority, constitutes a serious offense. Such actions may subject you to severe civil penalties, including substantial fines, and potential criminal prosecution, which may result in court appearances, restitution, and imprisonment. T & Co Tax disclaims any and all liability for errors, omissions, or penalties arising from incorrect, incomplete, or false information provided by you. The law imposes penalties when taxpayers underestimate their tax liability.

    3. Fees and Payment Terms: Our fees for tax preparation services will be as separately quoted and agreed upon. Payment for services is due in full before any work commences, unless you have been approved for a bank product facilitating payment from your refund.

    You acknowledge and agree that T & Co Tax's fees are for services rendered in preparing your tax returns. In the event that you or your spouse owe a federal or government debt (e.g., IRS, child support, student loans), you remain fully responsible for our tax preparation fees, irrespective of any refund offset. If your federal refund is mailed to you, you are still responsible for the tax preparation fees stated on your invoice.

    You agree not to dispute tax preparation fees for services rendered due to delays caused by the IRS or other taxing authorities. Failure to pay outstanding tax preparation fees will result in T & Co Tax pursuing all available legal actions to collect such unpaid fees.

    You will receive a PDF copy of your tax return to review and sign and one to keep. In the event you need an additional copy there is a $25 charge.

    4. Document Retention and Return Filing: You are solely responsible for securely storing all original tax records, supporting documents, canceled checks, and other relevant financial information. These documents may be required to substantiate the accuracy and completeness of your tax returns in the event of an audit or inquiry by tax authorities.

    T & Co Tax will retain copies of your records and our work papers pertaining to this engagement for a period of three (3) years from the date of filing, after which these documents will be securely destroyed. Copies of your tax return and other documents will be available upon request for an additional fee.

    Our engagement concludes upon the delivery of the completed returns to you (for paper-filing) or upon your signature and our subsequent electronic submission of your tax return (for e-filing). If you elect not to e-file your returns through our office, you bear sole responsibility for timely and accurately filing the returns with the appropriate taxing authorities.

     

    5. Communication All communications regarding your tax return will be conducted through electronic means, specifically email and text messaging. This includes, but is not limited to, sending important updates, requesting necessary documentation, and delivering finalized documents. By signing this letter, this confirms your consent to receive communications in this format. Furthermore, we may periodically send you marketing communications about our services. You have the right to opt out of these marketing communications at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in the message or by contacting our firm directly.

    6. Authorization to File You are required to carefully review all tax-return documents before signing them. By signing this engagement letter, you authorize T & Co Tax to file your tax return. Your signature on this document serves as your express consent and is transferable to Form 1040, Form 8879 (IRS e-file Signature Authorization), Form 7216 (Consent to Disclose Tax Return Information), and all other applicable forms within your finalized tax return for submission to the relevant tax authorities. You understand that T & Co Tax does not provide quotes for comparison with do-it-yourself tax software.

    By signing below, you affirm that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms and conditions outlined in this engagement letter, and you authorize T & Co Tax to file your tax return on your behalf.

    7. Termination Either party may terminate this engagement upon written notice if there is a breach of the terms outlined in this
    letter.
