Welcome to the VISAC Community Consultation questionnaire!

Thank you for agreeing to take part in this important survey for VISAC.

This survey is being conducted by Mary Blais, an external consultant, in order to learn about your perception of VISAC and to receive your feedback about your experience with the programs, activities, and exhibitions offered through the organization. 

Your anonymous feedback will help support VISAC in its ongoing effort to develop and deliver impactful programs, workshops, events and exhibitions for the Greater Trail area, including Trail, Beaver Valley, Montrose, Fruitvale and Rossland. 

The questionnaire should take approximately 15-25 minutes to complete, which will depend on how detailed a response you provide. 

Only three questions are mandatory. The rest are optional. We invite you to skip over any other questions you are not comfortable responding to.

The questionnaire will be available between now and 11:59pm on January 25, 2024.

Be assured that all answers you provide are confidential. Results from this survey are anonymous. If you’d like to be entered in a draw to win one of three gift baskets featuring a piece of pottery by Trail potter Sarah Barr of Centre Star Studio, a one night stay for two at the Prestige Mountain Resort in Rossland and a pair of tickets to see Made in Italy at the Bailey Theatre on Saturday, March 30th, you will be asked to provide your name, email address and phone number.

Based on the Canadian Census, a professional artist is defined as someone who reports employment or self-employment earnings in any of the nine occupation groups which have been identified as artistic by the Canada Council for the Arts.

The occuptional groups are:

• actors;
• artisans and craftspersons;
• conductors, composers and arrangers;
• dancers;
• musicians and singers;
• other performers;
• painters, sculptors and other visual artists;
• producers, directors, choreographers, and related occupations; and
• writers. 

Visual arts are defined as those that meet the eye and evoke emotion through an expression of skill and imagination.

They include, but are not limited to painting, drawing, sculpture, fibre art, printmaking, design, crafts, photography, film making and installation art.

Also included within the visual arts are the applied arts such as industrial design, graphic design, fashion design, interior design and decorative art. 

For many emerging artists, the VISAC Gallery is often their first gallery exhibition.

As a community gallery, we present an average of eight (8) exhibitions per year based on community interest.

VISAC is committed to facilitating equitable access to its programs, workshops, exhibitions and events.
