  • New Development Charge

    Please read carefully
    ↓

  • This charge only applies if you fulfill the conditions below.

If the location has never been connected to the internet before, the network provider (not us) will charge a New Development fee.

This is not our fee, rather it is by the network provider & applies to all new connections on any network (NBN, Fibercorp, Opticomm, TPG, Etc).

How will I know if this applies to me?

For new dwellings a New Development Charge may be applicable. This will be charged to you by SupaNetworks Directly.

  • What Is a New Development Charge?

When a company such as NBN Co, LBNCo, Opticomm or Supanetworks builds infrastructure into an new greenfield or brownfields location they are permitted to charge a one-time New Development Charge (NDC) to contribute to the cost of this work. This charge is levied to the first person to activate an internet service at an address.

Where can I find out more information on the fee?

    https://www.nbnco.com.au/develop-or-plan-with-the-nbn/new-developments/government-policy-for-new-developments

Does Alpha profit from the New Development Charge?

Alpha passes on the NDC strictly at cost and does not profit from the NDC.

Can I negotiate on the New Development Charge?

Unfortunately, as the fee is charged to us we are unable to waive or discount the fee. The NDC will not need to be paid before we can order the internet connection.
Supernetworks will follow up to collect this payment.

I am renting, is the landlord responsible for the New Development Charge?

While you may wish to raise the cost of the NDC with your Landlord or Real Estate Agent. We are unable to communicate or negotiate with a third party about the NDC.

  • ⚠ An Important Note About Your Router

If you opt not to purchase our preconfigured routers please ensure that you have a functioning router or acquire one independently. The box on the wall in your unit is NOT a router. You will need to program the router yourself with the correct settings in order to connect to our service, it is not a plug-and-play process.

While we offer assistance, please bear in mind the diverse nature of routers, and responsibility for non-Alpha devices rests with the user.

We recommend NON-VDSL/DSL routers, with TP-Link Routers prefered.
