Phi Upsilon Omicron- Digital Poster Contest

Deadline: May 1, 2024, by 5:00 pm ET.
Eligibility:

The Phi Upsilon Omicron Digital poster contest is open to any Phi Upsilon Omicron chapter. The purpose of the contest is to create a digital poster that promotes Phi Upsilon Omicron to potential members and encourage current members’ involvement. A chapter planning to enter must designate one person to complete and enter the chapter’s submission. The chapter's designated individual will submit the contest entry with the approval of the chapter advisor. Only one submission is allowed per chapter.

Completion Period: Phi U chapters may work on a digital poster beginning January 15, 2024 – May 1, 2024. Chapter submissions are due May 1, 2024, by 5:00 pm ET.
Contest Guidelines:

Create a digital poster that promotes Phi Upsilon Omicron that can be universally used by any Phi Upsilon Omicron chapter. While creating the digital poster, consider the focus of the mission statement and purpose of Phi Upsilon Omicron (these items or an abbreviated format may be used as content). Illustrations and/or pictures may be used as part of the poster content.

Purposes of Phi Upsilon Omicron:

·       Recognize and promote academic excellence.

·       Enhance qualities of leadership by providing opportunities for service; and

·       Encourage lifelong learning and commitment to advance family and consumer sciences and related areas.

Mission Statement:

Phi Upsilon Omicron, an honor society in the integrated field of family and consumer sciences, offers an environment empowering lifelong learning, leadership building, and ethical and scholastic excellence.
Required on Digital Poster:
- Title of organization: Phi Upsilon Omicron
- Photos and/or illustrations that represent the organization (Phi U emblem), members involved in activities that promote the purposes/goals of the organization.
- We ask to include an empty space on the bottom right corner of the digital poster with a text box so that chapters can individualize the poster (ex: space for chapter name, contact information and/or QR code).
- All posters must be no larger than 8.5x11 inches and must be submitted as a high-quality PDF file.
- Digital posters must be uploaded through submission jot form at link provided below.
- Digital posters submitted by email will NOT be accepted.

Winner Selection and Notification:

A committee of Phi Upsilon Omicron National Council members will review submissions to determine the top three submissions for the Digital Poster Contest. Criteria will include required components, creativity, eye appeal, usability for Phi Upsilon Omicron chapters and editorial aspects. The top submission will be provided to chapters nationwide to customize and use to promote the organization. The winning chapters will be notified using the email address provided on the submission jot form.

The top three submissions will be recognized with cash prizes as follows:

            1st place- $300

            2nd place- $150

            3rd place- $75

Winners will be announced at the 2024 Conclave and Digital Posters will be shared with those in attendance. Following Conclave, the first-place poster will be available on GreekTrack to be used by Phi Upsilon Omicron Chapters.
Rules Governing Phi Upsilon Omicron Contests/Awards

1. Recipients will be selected without bias toward race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, veteran status, or sexual orientation.

2. Alternate recipients may be selected and notified if the original recipient is unable to accept or disqualified.

3. Digital Poster Submissions become property of Phi Upsilon Omicron, Inc. and may be used in social media, print, web and digital marketing to promote the organization.

4. Award payments will be made payable to the chapter and mailed to the chapter advisor.
