OVERNIGHT SHIFT LEADER VOLUNTEER:
8:00PM - 9:30AM

Glassford Night Shelter Shift Leader Role

Evening Shift Leader Time required: 8pm – 9.30am

Venue: 67 Glassford Street

Role: To lead the evening shift in running a welcoming and safe space for rough sleepers seeking shelter for the night.

• Be at 67 Glassford street promptly to open the building

• To gather the team at 9pm to ensure everyone is confident in how the evening will run

• Delegate the various jobs for the evening (ensuring sleeping facilities are prepared, food is prepared, games are out etc)

• Check the list to see who we already know is coming in that night

• Ensure robust risk management on entry for guests

• Facilitate the team in making guests feel welcome

• Ensure all documentation is complete on who has entered the building

• Support staff in the case of an aggressive incident to help maintain calm as much as possible and call the emergency services if required

OVERNIGHT VOLUNTEER:
9:00PM - 9:00AM

To assist overnight in ensuring a peaceful and safe night for guests.

Assist with prosessing guests through the check in prosess

Monitor movement in the building
Check on sleeping area periodically
Serve drinks if a guest is awake needing refreshment
Prepare kitchen area for breakfast
Process any laundry which needs doing on site

OVERNIGHT STREET OUTREACH VOLUNTEER 9pm - 9am

To assist overnight.

Looking for rough sleepers

Assisitng people back to the shelter for support

Procsessing people who are brough from the street to the shelter

MORNING VOLUNTEER 7am - 10am

To assist the shift leader in providing breakfast and preparing guests for the day.

Serve breakfast to guests
Help maintain a friendly and calm environment
Help guests prepare for the day
Help clear up sleeping area and kitchen
