Why should I have my scope professionally mounted? Every firearm is safety checked prior to mounting the scope. The correct rings and bases are chosen for your firearm and scope combination. The base screws are torqued to 30inch lbs and secured using Loctite 242 to ensure they stay tight even on the heaviest recoiling guns. The rings are properly aligned to eliminate undue stress on the scope. The scope will be positioned so that the eye relief is correct, and the crosshairs are level. (Eye relief, eye box and crosshair position can be some what of a personal setting. We’ll allow you to shoulder the gun and set each to your taste.) The rings screws are torqued to 15inch lbs. Every scope is boresighted. Boresighting aligns the crosshairs with the bore and ensures that you’ll have enough adjustment when zeroing at the range. We finish up by wiping down your firearm with a quality gun oil so that you know it’s protected.
Boresighting is a process that aligns the bore with the reticle of the scope. It's a critical step before zeroing the rifle at the range.
Lapping, or truing up the inside surface of scope rings, can help protect the scope tube from damage and improve accuracy. Lapping can also eliminate stress on the tube, which can affect the integrity of the scope's internal moving parts.

The crown is where the bore intersects with the muzzle. If this intersection is not a perfect, concentrice exit, accuracy suffers.
Drilling and tapping a hole involves creating a threaded hole in a piece of material, typically metal.
Glass bedding is a process that involves molding an epoxy-based material onto a rifle stock to fill gaps between the stock and receiver. This process is common in wood stocks, and can help fix inletting mistakes, provide a snug fit, and prevent unnecessary movements inside the stock. Glass bedding can also stabilize the barreled action within the stock, which can increase the accuracy of the rifle.
Pillar bedding is a method of bedding a rifle that involves inserting metal cylinders around the action screws to reduce compressive shifting. The pillars support the rifle's action on non-compressible "pillars" that are permanently molded into the stock. This process can increase accuracy and consistency by stabilizing the barreled action within the rifle stock. It can also reduce or eliminate stress caused by unmatched surfaces between the stock and action.

Priced per hour. Avg is $600ish "The quality of a fine rifle or shotgun is often judged by the checkering. In addition to the functional aspect of providing a firm, non-slip grip of the stock, custom checkering adds to its appearance and value. Care is taken so that the checkering blends with the stock to complement and enhance the overall aesthetic character of the firearm, while allowing the owner a personal statement in its design. All checkering will have sharp, pointed diamonds with no overruns, and be done without borders unless specified. The checkering can be done from 18 to 32 lines per inch, with 24 LP.I. recommended for rifles, slightly finer for shotguns and accent panels

The Standard Pro-Port procedure consists of "cutting" eleven compound ellipsoidal ports into each side of a barrel. These (similar to an oval) ports are placed behind the choke tube or constricted area in a series of two rows with six on the top and five on the bottom. Roundtrip shipping to Mag-na-port is $49 additional

Roundtrip shipping to Mag-na-port is $49 additional
Our Pigeon Port design is an enhancement to the porting design consisting of five additional ports extending back from the top row of the Pro-Port pattern. This style of porting is recommended for shooters using 2 3/4 dram equivalent or higher loads. It provides up to an additional 5% reduction in recoil and is great for use with pressure first shot, doubles, and in flyer tournaments. The extra pigeon porting is not recommended for gas or recoil operated guns and is not available on barrels under 24 inches. Per barrel when added to a standard porting job. Roundtrip shipping to Mag-na-port is $49 additional
Competitive riflemen and hunters know the importance of a fast, accurate second shot. Mag-na-port offers shooters an average of 30% reduction in recoil (actual reduction varies depending on caliber) Roundtrip shipping to Mag-na-port is $49 additional
Traditional Mag-na-porting of a handgun consists of two trapezoidal ports cut into the barrel approximately 1/2 inch from the muzzle. For the shooter this translates into a reduction of perceived recoil of 15 to 20%! Roundtrip shipping to Mag-na-port is $49 additional
Dual Trapezoidal Mag-na-porting is done on barrels over 3". This style of porting provides greater relief from muzzle lift. Using two trapezoidal ports on each side of the barrel, the primary focus of gas dissipation helps reduce the muzzle lift. Roundtrip shipping to Mag-na-port is $49 additional
Mag-na-port offers a unique system of porting semi-automatics by using a trapezoidal port through the barrel and an oversized expansion vent through the slide to allow maximum dissipation without fouling. This process offers an alternative to shooters not wanting additonal weight or length from add on compensators. Your gun will be far more managable and with far less muzzle lift. Roundtrip shipping to Mag-na-port is $49 additional
