Purple Martin Natal Dispersal Study
Disney Conservation
This survey is meant to collect sighting data of color banded hatch years during their subsequent return to Florida as second years, in addition to older birds that have been previously banded. This will allow us to visualize natal dispersal, or the spread of returning martins away from their hatch site. The first color banded chicks were banded in 2023, so this year, 2024, all of our color banded individuals will be second years.
