ZooALIVE Application 2027

-Applications will be accepted until February 1st for the spring break training, any application submitted after February 1st will default to the summer training camp and the deadline for the summer training camp is May 1st. Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance into the program. ZooALIVE is a very competitive program and we can only accept a certain number of teens each year. -After applications close, they will be reviewed and invitations to register will be sent out to those selected by May 15th for the summer session and February 15th for the spring sessions -Please email Emma at ejarrett@pueblozoo.org with any questions.
The student is REQUIRED to attend the entire week of training from March 22nd-26th, 2027, from 9:00 AM-3:00 PM. Can your student commit to attending these days (exceptions for medical and family emergencies)?

If you cannot agree to the following statements, we ask that you do not apply at this time.
I will be between the ages of 13 - 17 by the start of my training camp.
A fee of $200 (members) $225 (non-members) is due June 1st, 2026 if I am invited to join the ZooALIVE team.
I am able to provide two letters of reference from a non-family member by February 1st for the spring training camp or by May 1st for the summer training camp.
Being a ZooALIVE team member involves interacting with zoo guests of all ages and group sizes. I feel comfortable speaking to and working with people.
I will be handling and responsible for live animals.
I am required to submit proof of a tetanus vaccine if I am invited to participate in the Zoo ALIVE program.
This program is a commitment for a minimum of one year. I am required to commit to 25 hours of volunteering within this first year as a ZooALIVE team member. This is a commitment for BOTH the applicant and the parent/guardian who will provide support and transportation to the student.
I am committed to supporting the Pueblo Zoo's mission of empowering people to engage in conservation of animals and their natural habitat.
Please submit an audio or video recording of yourself doing a three minute presentation about your favorite animal.
