  • YSU Retirees Scholarship Application

    Deadline for application: February 15, 2026
  • Eligibility Requirements: Minimum overall GPA of 2.7 for undergraduate and 3.0 for graduate degree applicants at YSU; junior or senior student with a declared major or graduate student pursuing a degree; extra-curricular activities, special accomplishments and awards, work experience and need may also be considered. You must be enrolled during the 2026-2027 academic year which includes fall 2026 and spring 2027.

    Application Requirements: (1) online application; (2) essay of approximately 500 words titled “My YSU Experience,” a portion of which may be used in YSURA materials; (3) three letters of recommendation - at least one must be from a faculty member in a course you have taken in your major; and (4) unofficial transcript for undergraduate courses and, if applicable, graduate courses. All required materials must be submitted with this application. To access your YSU transcript: (1) log in to your Penguin Portal account, (2) click "Student Dashboard," (3) under the Records heading, click "View Academic Transcript," and (4) select "Unofficial" from the drop-down menu. Print a copy, scan it and save it as a PDF. 

    Instructions for Completion: If you begin completing the application and need to finish it at a later time, use the "Save" button at the bottom of the page and Jotform will email you a link to access your file. Once your application is complete, use the "Submit" button to apply for the scholarship. Jotform will send you a confirmation of your submission along with a copy of your application.
