Puppy Application

Thank you for your interest in being a Guardian Family to one of our beloved pups, and/or Breeders! We acquire or retain only the highest quality of the line as Breeders, so you will be getting a dog that is the best of a breed already known for its overall excellence. The whole idea behind the Guardian Family is to ensure that the dog always has a loving “Forever Family” to call its own, and gets all the attention he/she deserves as a valued family member, even after it is no longer being used for breeding purposes.

Not everyone or home is well-equipped to be a Guardian for various reasons. Filling out this application does not guarantee that you will be offered a puppy, or that you will be offered one right away, but as our dogs continue to have pups, we keep applications on file to contact suited candidates when we choose to retain that extra special puppy from one of our litters as a future breeder. What to expect
Completing this application is a step in the process of acquiring a guardian dog from Vera Mountain Goldens, but it does not guarantee you will get a puppy from this or any future litter. While it's unlikely, the breeder reserves the right to refuse any placement at any time.

APPROVAL AND PAYMENT: We will review applications within 5 business days of receipt. Applications are processed in the order they are received. If your application seems like you may be a good fit, we will notify you. We breed on a scheduled cycle, so we will only accept payments when puppies are expected or actually available. During pregnancy, approved guardian homes will receive a link to make a nominal commitment payment on a puppy, and links will be sent out in the order applications were received. Please make this payment within 48 hours of the approval e-mail. Guadian dogs are $1,700.

YOUR PICK OF PUPPY: Guardian dogs will be assigned in payment order by the first or second preference of the payment or as indicated on the application. If neither of your choices is available, you may elect another puppy from the litter. We ask that you make a choice within 24 hours of notification since there may be other families waiting for a chance to choose. You should review both the payment policies and pick policies on our website for any updates.

GOING HOME: We cannot hold puppies for extended times; it is critical for their social development that the litter departs within a reasonable timeframe. If you have a big vacation planned or have events that would conflict with a young puppy, please know puppies cannot be boarded in a kennel until they have received their full immunizations and their rabies vaccination which cannot be done until 3 months of age.

CONTRACT: We have a contract and will not place a guardian puppy without a signed contract. We believe it's the professional thing to do to memorialize our obligations to each other on paper so there are no questions later, and for that reason, it's a bit lengthy. If you have questions about specific terms, you need to contact us prior to picking up your puppy.

REGISTRATION PAPERS: Our excellent family companions come with registration papers to the AKC. Your dog will be AKC transferred to you once it's done breeding.
