PURPOSE
To provide financial assistance to (eligible) Youth to attend 2025 Barn in the USA ADGA Youth show in Ridgefield, Washington on Friday, June 27, 2025.
EXPECTATIONS
• Recipient will attend 2025 Barn in the USA show AND participate in the ADGA Youth Show AND Showmanship.
• Scholarship award may be used to cover expenses in Showman App; such as goat registration, goat stalls, shavings, and/or camping fee.
• Recipient will receive credit in their Showman App account.
• Only complete applications will be considered for the scholarship.
AWARD
• Two scholarships will be awarded in each age group:
Ages 15-20 years of age (age as of June 27, 2025)
1st Place $150
2nd Place $100
Ages 14 & under years of age (age as of June 27, 2025)
1st Place $150
2nd Place $100
• Recipient will receive a credit in the Showman App (https://showman.app/shows#/barn-in-the-usa/) towards their balance for Barn in the USA show.
• Please contact the Show Secretary, Amanda Hanson at ccgoatassociation@gmail.com, to apply your award credit before submitting and paying your final Barn in the USA balance.
APPLICANTS MUST
• Be under 21 years of age on June 27, 2025
• Be a current member of the American Dairy Goat Association (applicant may be a youth or regular member or part of a family or joint membership).
• Complete the scholarship application as directed and include one letter of recommendation from an adult (non-family member). The letter could come from a teacher, 4-H, FFA, or grange leader, clergy, family friend, goat breeder, goat mentor, ADGA Director, etc.
• The letter of recommendation MUST be submitted with the application or the application will be considered incomplete and will NOT be evaluated.
• Fill out this form or email by March 31, 2025
• Youth first place winners may only win once every two (2) years. Example: 2024 1st place winners can not apply again till the 2026 show season. 2023 winners are encouraged to apply!
SELECTION PROCESS
The Youth Scholarship Committee Judges are current Clark County Goat Association members. Committee Judges have no youth or youth involved in dairy goat shows.
To prevent any bias, the applicant's name, family member names, herd name, location, and any other pertinent itentifying factors will be omitted from the applicant's application by a non-committee judge. The application will then be forwarded to the Committee Judges for review.
Application is open from February 15 - March 31, 2025. A decision will be decided and announced in mid-April. Barn in the USA show registration opens May 1.
CLARK COUNTY GOAT ASSOCIATION MISSION
The Clark County Goat Association has been formed to promote education, cooperation, and fellowship among goat breeders and enthusiasts. The organization shall provide regular educational, social, and beginner programs to encourage and sustain goat breeders. All breeds of goats will be recognized by the organization.
