  • High School Equivalency / Equivalencia de Escuela Secundaria

     

    High School Equivalency [formerly GED] courses are offered at Ivy Tech in Goshen through partnership with Ivy Tech Community College and Elkhart Community Adult Education. This unique opportunity will allow our Team Members to learn the required skills necessary [Reading & Writing in English and Math] to complete the exams.     Technical Courses

     

    Lippert University offers several different technical courses. Students in all Technical courses will earn certifications from the Smart Automation Certification Alliance (SACA) or the National Institue for Metalworking Skills (NIMS).

    Other than Fast Track classes, all Technical courses run for 8-weeks. Classes meet on WEDNESDAYS from 1-5pm unless otherwise stated.

  • Completion of the Basic Electricity class is required to be enrolled in the class you selected. If you have taken Basic Electricity outside of Lippert University, you will be asked to provide documentation confirming completion. Please know if you submit your application without having completed the required prerequisite class, your application may be denied.

  • Completion of the Basic Electricity OR CNC classes is required to be enrolled in the class you selected. If you have taken any of these classes outside of Lippert University, you will be asked to provide documentation confirming completion. Please know if you submit your application without having completed the required prerequisite class, your application may be denied.

  • Completion of the Basic Electricity and Programmable Logic Controllers classes are required to be enrolled in Programmable Logic Controllers Troubleshooting class. If you took either of these classes outside of Lippert University, you will be asked to provide a documentation confirming completion. Please know if you submit your application without having completed the required prerequisite classes, your application may be denied.

  • Completion of the CNC Milling class with Lippert University is required to be enrolled in CNC Lathe. Please know if you submit your application without having completed the required prerequisite class, your application may be denied.

  • The course introduces and instructs the student in all aspects of Computer Numeric Control (CNC) machine operation and setup. The student will set up and operate CNC mills and lathes utilizing set-up, production, in-process inspection, and preventive maintenance methods similar to what the student may experience in the present-day work environment.

     

    Lippert University is proud to announce that we are offering through our partnership with Ivy Tech a FOUR WEEK, full time (8 hours per day) FAST TRACK Computer Numerical Control [CNC]  course.​

  • Print (CAD) Courses

     

    Lippert University is proud to present several classes working with computer-aided designs (CAD) drawings, or engineering prints.

    SolidWorks is the program where CAD drawings are created. Check HERE to see more information about all the SolidWorks classes available.

    Print Reading shows how to read and interpret the CAD drawings for production. Check HERE for more information about the class.

    All CAD courses run for 8-weeks. Classes meet on WEDNESDAYS unless otherwise stated.

  • Completion of the Solidworks Basics class is required to be enrolled in Advanced Solidworks. Please know if you submit your application without having completed the required prerequisite class, your application may be denied.

  • Welding

     

    This course is designed with an emphasis on welding technology related to multiview computer-aided design (CAD) drawings, freehand sketching and layout techniques. Apply AWS A2.4 welding symbols (American Welding Society), and study welding documentation supported by fabricated products and assembly. Multiview lines, measurements, and many AWS welding standards will be presented and assessed weekly. Fasteners and welding assemblies are essential to this CAD documentation course. Welding programs can cover MIG Welding, TIG Welding, and/or Fabrication.

    Upon enrollment in the WELDING course, students will be required to become a registered Apprentices with the Department of Labor in the Welding occupation.

     

  • Fabrication

    In this course students will be introduced to and apply basic metal fabritation and layout principles in a lab setting following safe lab practices and workign off welding prints. Students will also obtain the knowledge of operating different CNC metal fabrication on equipment that pertains to the welding industry. Emphasis will be placed on safety, start-up, loading, and efficient operation of the CNC plasma table, CNC shear, CNC brake press, and other related equipment to fabricate and assemble projects.

  • Quality Courses

     

    Lippert University offers several different Quality courses. Check HERE for an overview and description of each course. Students in all courses will earn certifications from the Six Sigma Global Institute Yellow Belt or the Purdue Manufacturing Extension Program.

  • Completion of the Quality Assurance Concepts 200 class is required to be enrolled in Principles of Employment. Please know if you submit your application without having completed the required prerequisite class, your application may be denied.

  • Human Resources Classes

    Lippert University offers several different Human Resources courses. Check HERE for an overview and description of each course. Please note that these courses MUST be taken in order.

    All Human Resources classes meet on WEDNESDAYS unless otherwise stated.

    Some Human Resources classes will be available virtually for students more than 50 miles from the Elkhart, IN campus. See the Roles and Responsiblilites virtual students must agree to HERE.

    These classes are only available to team members currently in a Human Resources role. Applications from any team member NOT in Human Resources will be denied.

  • The Human Resources Management class will run for 8-weeks.

     

    Please note that if you are not currently in a Human Resources role, completion of this course does NOT guarantee a transition into a Human Resources. Be sure you work with your current leader and HR Representative to identify career growth towards a Human Resources role and potential job openings available.

    If registration space is limited, team members currently in a Human Resources role will take precedence.

  • The SHRM Preparation course runs for 20-weeks. It will focus on Principles of Employment and Benenfits Administration, while also preparing students to test for thier SHRM-CP certification. 

    Upon enrollment in the SHRM Preparation course, students will be required to become a registered Apprentices with the Department of Labor in the Human Resources occupation.

     

     

    Completion of the Human Resources Essentials class is required to be enrolled in SHRM Prep course. Please know if you submit your application without having completed the required prerequisite class, your application may be denied

     

  • Supply Chain Courses

    Lippert University offers several different Supply Chain courses. Check HERE for an overview and description of each course. Students in all Supply Chain courses will earn an SC-Pro Certification from the Council of Supply Chain Mangement Professionals (CSCMP).

    All Supply Chain courses run for 8-weeks. Classes meet on WEDNESDAYS unless otherwise stated.

    Unless denoted as VIRTUAL, all Supply Courses are Hybrid classes, meaning students can be in person or virtual. Virtual students must be at least 50 miles from the Elkhart campus. See the Roles and Responsiblilites virtual students must agree to HERE.

  • Lean Courses

    Lippert University offers several different Lean courses, including Principles of Lean Management and Green Belt.

  • THIS COURSE WILL RUN FOR 16 WEEKS. Upon enrollment in the Green Belt course, students will be required to become a registered Apprentices with the Department of Labor in the Quality/Lean occupation.

     

    Applicants MUST have completed the Lean Management class and earned the Six Sigma Lean Practioner certification  OR completed the Quality Assurance Concepts class and earned the Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification to be enrolled in Green Belt. Please know if you submit your application without having completed the required prerequisite class, your application will be denied.

  • Environmental, Health, and Safety Classes

    Lippert University offers several different Safety courses. Check HERE for an overview and description of each course.

    Students in all classes will earn a certification from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

     All EHS Classes meet on WEDNESDAYS unless otherwise specified.

    Please note that students in any OSHA-specific class MUST attend ALL weeks of class. Issuance of OSHA certifications is based on hours in class and each week is needed to reach the required hours.

  • This is an 8-week course.

  • In Eau Claire, this is a 4 week class.

    In Elkhart, this is a 3-week class.

  • This is a 12-week course.

  • This is an 8-week course.

     

    Completion of at least the OSHA 10 class is required to be enrolled in the class you selected. If you have taken OSHA 10 or 30 outside of Lippert University, you will be asked to provide a copy of your OSHA card, confirming completion.

    Additionally, only team members currently in leadership or EHS roles are eligible for this class.

    These classes are designed to give leaders a better understanding of all aspects of the business and leadership.

    DOT and CDL Classes

    Lippert Unviersity is proud to offer several courses for Shipping Leader and Team Members wanting to earn thier Commercial Driver's License.

  • Motor Carrier Safety Compliance

     

    Instruction is provided in the application of Federal Motor Carrier Safety
    Regulations (FMCSR) to motor carrier industry operations. The course
    emphasizes the practical side of regulatory compliance from the level of
    regulations to the acute and critical safety violations identified by the U. S. DOT
    Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

     

    This course is designed for shipping leaders, or leaders that oversee shipping operations. To see more detailed information about this class, check the flyer HERE.

     

    This class will run for 5 weeks and will be held Virtually. Students are required to adhere to the Virtual Learning Roles and Responsiblities while in this class.

  • Commercial Driver's License Training

     

    Lippert University’s CDL Driver training partners Truck Drivers Institute of South Bend in Indiana and Sage Truck Driving School in Caldwell, Idaho offer courses  that run for THREE FULL WEEKS, with class from 7AM to 5:30 PM each day. Only full-time team members (not temps) that have been with Lippert for at least 1 year are eligible. More information South Bend HERE / Idaho HERE.

    Team Members must have:

    • "Clean" driving record for the past FIVE years
    • In-date, passing DOT Physical
    • Passing DOT Drug Test within 30 days of the start of class.
    • Approval from Shipping Manager must approve them to join the fleet after getting their CDL
  • Project Management Courses

    This course will cover how to:

    • Identify the phases of a project life cycle
    • Project organizational structure
    • Define the elements of a project charger
    • Identify tools and reports
    • Task definition
    • Risk Assessment
    • Project Control Techniques

    This four-week course will provide strategies for anyone to improve their training skills. This course is designed for those new to, or an experienced trainer.

  • Wellness Courses

    Lippert University is excited to partner with Lippert Life and Marquee Health to offer new Wellness classes at Ivy Tech Elkhart.

    Nicotine Cessation Wellness course will focus on the benefits of quitting, making a plan for personal triggers, and understanding how to manage stress in healthy ways. Nicotine in all forms will be covered (cigarettes, chewing tobacco, vaping, etc.)

    Requirements to enroll in this course are:

    • Current or former nicotine user
    • Family or Household member of a nicotine user
    • Leader of a team with nicotine users

  • Financial Management

    This training aims to enhance the business acument of our leaders, helping them make better decisions and achieve improved finanical results. By working through practical scenarios using Lippert data. Participants will gain immediate, applicable insights. The course is thoroughly designed to aboid busy work and focuses on key financial metrics like ROIC, EBIT, and cash generation.
