The course introduces and instructs the student in all aspects of Computer Numeric Control (CNC) machine operation and setup. The student will set up and operate CNC mills and lathes utilizing set-up, production, in-process inspection, and preventive maintenance methods similar to what the student may experience in the present-day work environment.

Fabrication

In this course students will be introduced to and apply basic metal fabritation and layout principles in a lab setting following safe lab practices and workign off welding prints. Students will also obtain the knowledge of operating different CNC metal fabrication on equipment that pertains to the welding industry. Emphasis will be placed on safety, start-up, loading, and efficient operation of the CNC plasma table, CNC shear, CNC brake press, and other related equipment to fabricate and assemble projects.
