rescue. It is important, however, for the adoptive family to understand that when a dog is returned to us, there may a waiting period before we can take the dog back, as we will need to free up space in a foster home. When we place a dog, the space that dog has allowed in a foster home is typically immediately filled. For this reason, the adoptive home must understand that if there is a problem, SOS Texoma Dog Rescue 501c3 will make that dog a priority and take it back as soon as possible, but we cannot guarantee how much time that will take. The reason for that is we do not ever anticipate a dog return, as adoptions should be permanent. Also please note that the adopter is responsible for transportation to the new location where he/she will reside. In the event that the dog has been given to any third party (whether it be a relative, friend, animal control officer, shelter facility, etc) Texoma Dog Rescue 501c3 reserves the right to pursue and obtain a breach of contact fee of $2,000. I understand that my adoption fee is under no circumstances refundable. Fees exist to cover the medical Texoma Dog Rescue 501c3 of the dogs placed. This policy should never be a problem as once again, adoptions should be permanent. Regardless of time frame or issue adoption fee is not refundable. I agree that I will never physically abuse this dog. I understand that regardless of how this dog has misbehaved, there will never be anything that the dog will do that would necessitate physical discipline. I agree that I will not under any circumstances use my dog for any sort of fighting, gaming, or large game hunting as I understand the danger I will be putting my dog in, and how unethical any of these practices are. I understand that if I am adopting a puppy, it is my responsibility to raise this dog properly. Dogs require a lot of socialization and behavioral issues can stem from either lack of attention or socialization. I understand this and agree to properly socialize my dog with both other animals and people so that I have a confident, healthy adult dog. If I am adopting an adult dog, I also agree to socialize my dog as much as possible in order to maintain a happy, healthy lifestyle. I agree that regardless of whether or not I am adopting a puppy or adult dog, I understand that rough- house playing, tug of war, wrestling and other playing that challenges the dogs strength just encourages negative, dominant, and often aggressive behavior. I want my dog to be happy, sweet, affectionate, as well as positively representing rescue dogs. The best way to do that is to play fetch, and show the dog love. Encouraging aggressive behavior is unacceptable. I am certain that I am financially capable of paying for a dog and I will be able to handle the medical costs should an emergency arise. I agree to provide the dog all necessary medical care, and cost will never be a deciding factor as to whether or not I provide that to a dog. I will keep my dog on annual vaccines and heartworm preventative, no matter what.
