GENERAL INFO:
LOCATION: I am based in Los Angeles and work at Paintshop Tattoo which is part of Bike Shed Moto Co LA at 1580 Industrial St. Los Angeles CA 90021
MY AVAILABILITY: I work Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Weekend dates book out faster than weekdays and if you only have weekend availability there may be a longer wait for an appointment. I normally schedule 1-3 months out at a time at the most but if you need a later date months ahead/later in the year, it is possible. Appointment times will vary depending on the date.
PREPAID DEPOSIT: A deposit that will go towards the cost of your tattoo is required to reserve your appointment. Deposits are final, non-refundable, non-transferable, and due preferably within 24 hours of confirming your appointment time. Deposit payments must be sent via Paypal or Venmo, more details will be sent upon confirming your appointment date. The remaining balance is due upon completion of your tattoo. A $200 USD deposit is required for work that will cost $400 USD and up, a $100 deposit is required for work that will cost $200 - $300 USD.
PRICING: My minimum is $200 USD. For smaller pieces, I sometimes price per piece rather than hourly. For large-scale work or appointments with multiple designs, you will be booked in at my hourly rate which is $200 an hour. I will provide a rough estimate of the time it will take to complete your tattoo as well as a quote for your tattoo appointment. Please note this is only a minimum estimate. Your final quote may change if any revisions are made to the subject matter, design, size, placement, or detail of the work.
If the tattoo is bigger, more detailed, lots of color, etc., then the final cost of the tattoo goes up the longer it takes to complete.
For example if it would end up taking 5 hours instead of 4 hours the price will go up accordingly. My limit for tattooing time in a single session is 5 hours maximum. If your tattoo is a bigger project that requires multiple sessions, I will split the sessions up where the first session is just the outline and then you will come back for the shading/color sessions. This also works better for your budget and allows the work to not be rushed. There is at least a 3 week minimum in between most sessions for the skin to properly heal. Some exceptions can be made if it is for instance a sleeve or back piece where I can tattoo an area within the large tattoo where the skin has not been worked on. For example, if it was a leg sleeve with a healed outline and we are starting shading/color, I can work on your thigh one day and then your ankle the next day or within a closer time frame. In that case you wouldn't have to wait 3 weeks in between appointments. However, with any large work you are also more than welcome to spread your appointments further apart to once a month or bi monthly for example, whatever works well for your budget.
DESIGN INFO: I normally do not show any designs in advance but can be discussed/shown or reviewed during a consultation prior to your appointment. Any changes to the tattoo design should be discussed prior to the day of your appointment, and sometimes can occasionally be made before I begin tattooing the day of if they are small changes, but would be much better & easier for me if we have it all figured out and ready to go beforehand. If you alter your design idea and/or greatly alter the size, your appointment may need to be rescheduled for a later date and the price will most likely change. If you decide to completely change your idea, please provide at least 5 days notice. If I am notified any later than this, which will be considered a last minute change, a $200 USD redesigning deposit fee will be required and will not go towards the final cost of your tattoo. In some cases I may need to reschedule you as well depending on the size of the project.
The reason this is important is because I will have a design/drawing ready that I have already spent personal time working on. So if there are changes the day of your appointment it would cause me to have to use up time to do any redrawing or redesigning which would cut into the actual tattooing time. And may also cut into another client's time if I have an appointment scheduled after you at a certain time. Also have in mind I accepted your original idea, and if your new ideas/changes are something completely not what I would have originally agreed to, then I may opt to cancel your booking. Setting up a consultation to review artwork and design is very helpful in avoiding any disagreement of the artwork. If you are a local resident near the shop within driving distance, it is wise to schedule a consultation with me prior to the actual appointment to preview artwork or further discuss design and placement of the tattoo which is also highly recommended.
GRATUITY: Tipping is greatly appreciated. A 20% tip is a customary standard within the tattoo industry, however tips can range between 10%-30%. It is completely up to you and is positive tattoo etiquette.
TERMS OF SERVICE:
PAYMENT: I take credit card payment in the form of Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, Apple Pay or Cashapp, but I overall prefer to deal in cash if it is possible for you to bring. So please ensure you have enough funds with you to cover the cost of your appointment.
RESCHEDULING: I require 72 hours notice prior to the time of your appointment if you need to reschedule. Changing your appointment time after this period of time will forfeit your original deposit and an additional deposit will be required to reserve a new appointment. I do allow at least one reschedule per deposit if given the appropriate amount of notice. Excessive rescheduling will result in the original deposit being forfeited and a new one will be due to secure another appointment date. If I need to change either your appointment date or time, I will notify you at least 7-10 days prior to the date of your appointment. If you cannot reschedule in this situation I will work with you to figure out a solution. Also in this case if there is no solution that can be reached I will refund your deposit.
CANCELLATION: If you cancel your appointment especially after I have drawn your design, your deposit will not be refunded. Some exceptions do apply. More info will be given about this when I reply to your request.
TARDINESS & NO-SHOWS: If you are late for your appointment this will affect the length of time I have reserved for you. You will be considered a no-show if you are more than 20 minutes late to your appointment. If you do no-show or you cancel less than 72 hours prior to the date/time of your actual appointment, you will forfeit your deposit and will be required to leave a new additional deposit to reserve another appointment. It is best to get to your appointment 15 minutes early and be punctual.
DURATION OF APPOINTMENT: Be patient, tattooing can be a long-winded tedious process. Discussing the final design, setup, breaks, discussing aftercare and taking photos, can add more time to the length of your appointment. Dedicate your whole day to getting tattooed mainly and allow plenty of time. Its best to not have any same day plans you are trying to get to before or after your tattoo. Please let me know if you are traveling a long distance or are on any sort of time constraint. I highly recommend clearing your day and dedicating the whole day to getting tattooed.
RESERVING THE RIGHT TO CANCEL: I do reserve the right to end any involvement in an appointment or in progress project at my stipulation. Reasons include excessive tardiness to your appointments, no shows, excessive rescheduling, copious alterations to the artwork of the tattoo design, etc. This would also result in no refund of any existing payments or deposits.
ARTWORK: All my designs are my creative property and may be reused for any purpose at my discretion.
PHOTOS: I will be taking photos of your tattoo. The photos taken are for promotional social media, portfolio or editorial purposes. When it comes time to taking photos I will discuss more details with you.
AGREEMENT: When you book the appointment, you are agreeing to the above terms. Overall you are trusting me and my craft based on my portfolio photos you have seen online on Instagram or on a website. Thank you and please let me know if you have any additional questions.
