Attention Filers:
As you are well aware, in the last few years there has been an alarming number of incidences of federal tax fraud and/or tax identify theft. In order to circumvent problems with returns containing fraudulent information we must implement new procedures to stay in compliance with federal ruled governing tax preparation.
Beginning with the 2015 tax filing season the following will apply:
- We will no longer accept the relationship between filers and dependents as indicated on the client data sheets without proof. Validation can be birth certificates, marriage license, court guardianship papers, or adoption papers.
- You must have a valid social security card. We will no longer accept medical cards whether outdated or current.
- As proof of residency you must have school records, shot records, daycare records, or any official mail sent by a federal/state agency or legal entity.
- If you are self-employed or a subcontractor you will have need form 1099 and/or some documentation substantiating all income and expenses (i.e. ledgers, invoices, journals, diaries, work orders, contracts, bank statements, copies of payment checks, receipts, bills, and credit card statements)
Any information obtained whether written, implied, or shared through general conversation will be used and or considered.
I have read and understand the items listed above.
