Godparents
The Church requires the following of godparents: (1) at least 16 years of age; (2) fully initiated into the Church (the person has been baptized, received Confirmation & Eucharist); (3) she/he attend Mass on a regular basis at a parish where she/he is a registered member; (4) if she/he are married, the marriage is a valid sacramental marriage; (5) her/his life is such that it will give good witness to your child on what it means to be. Christian. Godparents (including those who are members of Saint Cecilia) will need to receive a "Letter of Eligibility" from her/his parish. Please think carefully about godparents and only choose those who are eligible. Saint Cecilia does not require you to have godparents. You can also have only one godparent.

The baptism of a child takes place at 12:15pm on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sunday of each month. Prior to the baptism, you will need to complete the Ascension Press Baptismal Preparation Course (and submit your Certificate of Completion); gather eligibility forms for godparents and have a meeting with one of our priests or deacons. With this in mind, what Sunday do you hope to have your child baptized?
