    Application for the Position of

    Nominating Committee Chair or Nominating Committee Member

    Delta Sigma Theta has a reputation for selecting effective leaders who have laid the foundation of the Sorority. You have the opportunity to continue this tradition within the Chester Alumnae Chapter by identifying and recommending qualified candidates for election. The available positions, their terms of office, and the required duties of all positions are listed below. The Nominating Committee invites you to recommend capable candidates for the offices and positions listed below for the term of 2024-2026.

    ELIGIBLE FOR RE-ELECTION TO THE SAME POSITION

    Eligible for re-election for one two-year term

    President*, Vice-President*, Corresponding Secretary, Recording Secretary, Financial Secretary, Assistant Financial Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Internal Audit Chair

    Ineligible for re-election and ineligible to run for any other elected office/position

    One two-year term 

    Nominating Chair**, Nominating Committee Member** (4 positions)

    Special Notes: *To be nominated for the office of President or Vice President, a soror must meet the following criteria: Has been a registered delegate at a minimum of one (1) of the last 2 National Conventions and one (1) of the last 2 Regional Conferences.

    **The Nominating Committee, comprised of the committee members and the chair, are identified as an Elected Committee and are not officers of the Chapter.

    Duties of the Nominating Committee Chair and Nominating Committee Members

    The committee will consist of one (1) Chairperson and four (4) members of the chapter.
    2. Members of the Nominating Committee will be elected by a majority vote of the members present and voting at the time of chapter elections in April.
    3. The committee will solicit and receive nominations from chapter members for all elected officers and positions, including the Minerva Circle, Recognitions to create a slate of candidates.
    4. The Chair and the members of the Nominating Committee serve only one (1) term and cannot be a candidate for any elective office while serving on the Nominating Committee.
    5. Members of the Nominating Committee are ineligible to run for office while serving on the Committee. The chair and members of the Chapter Nominating Committee must resign prior to the call for nominations to be eligible to run for an office or position.
    6. Distribute to chapter members information on slated candidates at least thirty (30) days prior to the election.
