Background
Urras Coimhearsnachd Bhràdhagair agus Àrnoil (UCBA) was set up to buy, redevelop and subsequently run the old school building and grounds where Bragar and Arnol children went to school. You will all know that building now as Grinneabhat where all sorts of community activities take place, as well as the café and hostel.
Community consultation undertaken after the school shut in 2012 guided UCBA in the redesign of the building and in the events that have been taking place there since the redevelopment took place. Funding was raised both for the redevelopment work and for the community activities, but that funding has now run out and UCBA has to start a new round of funding applications to keep existing activities going and/or to establish new ones.
WE CANNOT DO THIS WITHOUT YOUR HELP.
All funding bodies need evidence of community engagement and participation in the designing and running of community projects. After all, there is no point in UCBA providing activities that nobody wants. We would really like to hear your views on what UCBA does at Grinneabhat and what we are proposing.
We would also like to hear from you if you have a skill you can share with others, if you would like to help run an activity, or if you would like to be a regular volunteer at Grinneabhat.
You can tell us what you think in a variety of ways:
· Fill out the UCBA questionnaire.
· Write an email to the fundraising co-ordinator catrionacampbell@bragararnol.org
· Leave a note in the suggestion box at Grinneabhat
· Request a face-to-face interview.
